POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s been 3 years since I released my debut album PHD: Poetically Handling Doubt and I’m still in awe that it exists in the world. This wasn’t just a project. It was an idea that lived in my head for YEARS before it ever saw the light of day. I carried it with me, wrestled with it, shelved it, doubted it and then, finally, I decided to bring it to life. I stopped putting it off, locked in, and gave it everything I had.

A lot went into completing this album, late nights, hours of freestyle sessions on my work commutes from Coral Springs to Coral Gables, deep introspection, trial and error, and a real desire to create something that wasn’t just music, but a statement. PHD wasn’t just a title, it was a reflection of the internal process, the mental grind, and the poetic lens I used to handle all the doubt that came my way.

Leading up to the release, I started something called SiHow Sundays, a weekly drop where I rapped over random beats every Sunday for a full year. These weren’t full songs, just raw snippets, ideas, and bars meant to hold people over while I worked in the background. It was my way of staying consistent, staying creative, and giving people a little something while they waited on the full vision.

When it finally came time to release the album, I wanted to do it right. I threw the album release party which I called SiHow Sundays Live at Miami Roots Kava (RIP 😭). I had only been in Miami for 9 months, but the love and turnout were incredible. That night was magic, a celebration of the work, the music, the journey, and everyone who believed in the vision with me.
3 years later, PHD still means everything to me. It marked the beginning of me stepping fully into my artistry, trusting my voice, and proving (to myself, more than anyone) that I could bring something from idea to reality.

To everyone who listened, shared, pulled up, or played a role in this journey I want thank you 🥹You’re part of the story.

Here’s to the next chapter. 💭🎙️

The 1 year anniversary of my debut album PHD: Poetically Handling Doubt! 🙌🏾 This project means a lot to me because of the story behind the process and because finally after hella years of saying I was, I put out a project. Additionally, I held an album release party on #SiHowSundays Live at Miami Roots Kava and folks showed the fuck up and out. For those of yall who were there yall know it was a movie 🎥. We had a time! @djalza_official had us vibing. I had been in Miami about 6-7 months and had no music out before so I was surprised at how many people came thru. It was so much love 🫶🏾. Guess they wanted to hear the profesor rapper 😂

Since then I’ve dropped, a couple singles, another album #RevolutionarySummer ✊🏾☀️ two music videos, performed live at a few places, and working on merch, all while educating the minds 🧠 of tomorrow at UM.
Much love 🫶🏾 to everyone who’s been rocking with me the past year! Here’s to the next!
