Ode to Femmentines Day 📍Deep during the winter in a beautiful community in Buffalo @birdsnestbuffalo lives @femmentinesday. A celebration of feminine energy in all its forms and expressions. 💃🏾February was a heavy month and it took a lot to keep holding me together. The song Queendom by @malkahenna found me and I knew it was the perfect song for this event. I could not find a way to choreograph to this, it felt so transformative and representative that I couldn’t choreograph to it. This piece was me unleashing myself to the world. We don’t have to attach ourselves to them. Bitch, I done been an EMT, Strippa, Baker, Wine consultant, CNA, Zumba instructor, Phlebotomist, Soap maker and some mó shit PSA‼️ Studio owners and folks who enjoy pole as a hobby: support strippas in meaningful ways by respecting and acknowledging their work. Throw money at strippas, take classes with strippas, donate money to mutual aid for strippas, hire strippas, support conversations BY strippas, support strippa-owned businesses by (active) strippas, fight for the decriminalization of SWers, and educate yourself on the harm caused by those who have taken strippa clothes, shoes, and aesthetics while simultaneously separating themselves from the suffering of those who paved the way—ESPECIALLY ✨Black Skrippas✨. Today was such a surreal experience. I feel like I just emerged from a deep underground divinely aligned adventure that has completely shifted my paradigm in the best way. My heart is filled with so much gratitude. A month ago I was involved in an accident that left my car completely totaled. I was in utter disbelief and simultaneously thankful that I hadn’t sustained any injuries. As soon as the accident happened I just remember thinking to myself “this is happening for me, not to me. Something big is coming” My husband was ready to buy me another car, but I’ve been feeling a bit shaken up from the accident and I would prefer not to drive right now. Instead, I asked him to invest in industrial sewing machines. Divine Threads has been growing more and more, and this investment would really take us to the next level A month later, all bets are on me 🙏🏾✨ Gratitude to my husband for believing in me and for always doing his best to solve my life’s problems from a simple paper cut, to sewing projects going to shit 😂. This man is one of the reasons I’ve been able to flourish and relish in my creativity. His constant affirming me. His willingness to stand firm in his Divine Masculine energy so that I can flourish in my Divine Feminine energy. His nurturing love has allowed me to grow in so many ways. Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me to follow my dreams and for being my biggest supporter. Te amo mi Rey 👑 It’s really 🆙
