GRAMMY Award-winning soprano Brittany Renee is celebrated for her “luminous tones” and “opulent voice,” earning praise from Opera News for her “plush soprano bloom.” Known for her radiant stage presence, sophisticated artistry, and captivating performances, she has become one of opera’s most exciting rising stars. Critics and audiences alike continue to recognize her for bringing warmth, elegance, and emotional depth to every performance.

Last season, Mrs. Renee appeared as Musetta in La Bohème at The Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Houston Grand Opera in her house debut. She also portrayed Bess in Porgy & Bess with Washington National Opera and appeared in the world premiere of Paola Prestini’s Silent Light at National Sawdust. On the concert stage, she served as soprano soloist for Brahms’ Requiem with the New York Philharmonic and performed in a gala concert honoring Pope John Paul II at Merkin Hall.

This season, Brittany Renee returns to The Metropolitan Opera as Bess in Porgy & Bess, appears with San Francisco Opera as Sister Rose in Dead Man Walking, and makes her role debut as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Florentine Opera. Her recent career highlights also include her San Francisco Opera debut as Julie in Omar, a groundbreaking opera collaboration by Rhiannon Giddens and Michael Abels, as well as acclaimed performances in Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones at both The Metropolitan Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Critics praised her performances as “uniformly excellent from top to bottom” and highlighted her “lovely, crystalline soprano.”

Mrs. Renee performed in The Met’s historic production of Porgy & Bess, which won Best Opera Recording at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Her impressive career has also included appearances at Teatro Regio Torino, Semperoper Dresden, Lincoln Center, and performances throughout Italy, Israel, and Canada. Beyond the operatic stage, she has collaborated with organizations including Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, American Spiritual Ensemble, and VOXSPEX, while also contributing vocals to Terence Blanchard’s film score for The Woman King starring Viola Davis.

Our very own Highbridge Singers sang at the Latino Pastoral Action Committee last month for their Black History Month Celebration! Enjoy this performance of our kids performing a medley of a funky vocal arrangement of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony and an arrangement of a civil rights-born anthem, We Shall Overcome. We send our biggest thanks to @lpac_programs_ministries for having us for this community event! ❤️

This past Friday, Highbridge Voices had a productive time engaging with students over at @brilla_schools with our Life Skills Workshop presentation! We heard topics about finding self in career and school spaces, career discovery, and higher educational insights. The workshop also included the kiddos using John Holland’s Self-Directed Research tool, which is a career assessment tool that matches personality, talent, and aspirations to best-fitting career choices and fields of study. Thank you so much to the workshop presenter Mary Seid for taking time to help these students explore and discuss their next steps in their educational journeys, career paths, and future life experiences through self-exploration! 🧠✨
