Coastal Camping Trip 🌊🏕️

The trip that actually left the group chat…

Biggest lesson learned:

Don’t trust Charles with the car keys on the beach. Luckily, the sea was feeling very forgiving 🌊🔑

A couple of weeks ago, we attended one of our schools where we teach weekly, to do a DJ and Music production workshop, and we were honoured to have our local MP, @callumanderson_mp , attend the session and sit down with us, to find out exactly what we are doing within his constituency, and throughout Buckinghamshire🎶

We went through and explained the impact our work is making on young students within schools, and children with learning difficulties. He then joined us to see the workshop in action, and catchup with some of the students at the school taking part!

The feedback we have had on the lessons and workshops we are providing both in and out of schools, has made us strongly believe that now, more than ever, there is a need for a more modern approach on Music education.🙌🏼

We want to take what we are doing, and go national.

We think now more than ever, Children and Young adults can benefit from more creative based education, which can lead to improvements in behaviour, and allow young people to express themselves in a form of media, that also gains them a skill!

Watch this space, more news to come on our campaign...

And if you are a parent of a student, or a teacher at a school and think these peri lessons or workshops could be great for the pupils… contact us on the below email!🙏🏻

An incredible afternoon last week at Akeley Wood School for the OTD Academy!🎧

Last week, we were delighted to deliver a comprehensive DJ and music production workshop for the students at Akeley Wood School. Throughout the afternoon, students engaged enthusiastically with each station, showcasing a range of industry‑standard skills, including beat‑making, digital mixing and live performance techniques🔊

We were very excited to be able to welcome Callum Anderson, the MP for Buckingham and Bletchley, who joined us to observe the workshop in progress and to learn more about the value of music technology in supporting creative pathways for young people!

Our professional tutors guided the students through real industry techniques that they will be able to implement into not just their future Music GCSE work, but will accompany them all the way into their A-Levels, and even prepare them for potential roles within the music industry in future years. Callum even had a go on the decks himself!🎶

Our thanks go to the staff and students at Akeley Wood School for their warm welcome and outstanding participation. Another massive thanks to Callum for taking the time to experience what we at OTD are all about. We look forward to future opportunities to support music education within the local community, and across all schools within Buckinghamshire!

If you are a teacher or a parent at a school, where you think our Lessons and workshops could be a great addition, send us an email to the following address: schools@otdgroup.co.uk
