For over a decade i said what @thekidmero said on @hot97. Executives dont know what they’re doing. Im happily retired. Love the new career path i have but Ill always speak for the culture because its why i was great at my job in broadcasting. Executives think they’re the show and its not the case. “Aint no one come to see you otis.” But they are paid like superstars while the real superstars get paid like the waterboy.

Radio didn’t fall off because it wasn’t cool and its for old people. It’s because old people that aren’t cool are making the decisions and because they have no face you blame the radio.

@dj3two1 and @bootsyvegas told yall years ago what executive incompetence is like. Salute to you @thekidmero for shining a light on it. Get rid of the bum ass executives.

Mass layoffs in media are often defended as an unavoidable financial necessity. But if restructuring is strictly a capital issue, why are 6- and 7-figure executive salaries completely insulated from the cuts while foundational local talent is dismantled?

My definitive podcast series, Mass Layoffs, is officially live.Across this multi-part series, we expose the systemic contradictions of modern broadcasting management. I share my personal journey navigating the internal pipeline at iHeartMedia—proving the high agility of local talent by stepping into critical reporting blocks with zero prior training, only to face automated HR roadblocks later.

Joined by radio veteran and author @dj3two1 , we break down why the homogenized “one band, one sound” corporate model is actively destroying the medium’s revenue and cultural value. It’s time for an operational pivot that prioritizes regional identity over executive protectionism.

Last month I had the opportunity to have my Hustle & Motivate DJ Camp at the Fox Road Boys & Girls Club in Raleigh. This is my 5th year sponsoring this camp. The class is free and students learn basic DJ fundamentals, business etiquette and how to start an LLC. This is a two day camp, in order to graduate they must attend both days and conduct a 7 minute DJ set. Graduates received a certificate of completion and a DJ controller. Oh! And the top two performers received a $50 Amazon gift card. These kids were locked in 😅

Shout out to my bro @dj3two1 for coming through and helping out 💪🏽
