Meet DJ Zel – Turning Up the Music at the Children’s Black Book Fair UK 2026

We’re excited to welcome 15-year-old @dj__zel to the Children’s Black Book Fair UK, where she’ll be providing the soundtrack to one of the UK’s biggest celebrations of Black children’s books.

@dj__zel is much more than an incredible young DJ. She is a philanthropist, model, CEO of @djzel_sheabutter, influencer and ambassador, using her platform to make a real difference by helping to tackle food and education poverty.

At just 15 years old, she’s already proving that young people don’t have to wait until they’re adults to create positive change. She is top child prodigy in the world 2023 & 2025

On Saturday 22 August, DJ Zel will be bringing the energy, the good vibes and the perfect soundtrack as thousands of children and families discover amazing books, meet inspiring authors and celebrate the power of stories.

At the Children’s Black Book Fair UK, we’re passionate about showcasing talented young people who are making an impact in their communities and DJ Zel is doing exactly that.

📅 Saturday 22nd August 2026 · 12pm–4pm
📍 Dalston CLR James Library, Hackney

TrulittleHeroAwards 2025.

We are still gobsmacked by the amazing young talents that we connect and celebrate every year.

Our youngsters are doing amazing things and we sre grateful for the sponsorship and donation that have assisted to keep this initiative going.

It was also a great delight to have the support of the youngest mayor, the mayor of the London Borough of Barking, and Dagenham attend the event. Her speech was encouraging, and our youngsters were inspired to keep moving forward and higher.

We have kicked off our 2026 edition already, and yes, with your help and support, we will continue to showcase these amazing young talents to the world.

Thanks to all our sponsors and supporters

Excited to announce I’ve been named a finalist in the @kpmg UK Black Entrepreneurs’ Awards 2025!⭐

Congratulations to my fellow finalists too 🤜🏽🤛🏽

I hope this recognition helps me to shine light on some of the amazing young entrepreneurs tagged in this post we work with at @ultraeducation (too many to mention!)

No matter the rollercoaster 🎢 ride that is social entrepreneurship; seeing the next generation succeed gets me up in the morning ready to make the change I would have wanted as a young person.

Huge thanks to KPMG for the support thus far 🙏🏽
