Cover and inside illustrations for @de_volkskrant V section, their daily culture supplement.

I loved this assignment! Aside from being my first newspaper cover, it brought together two of my favorite things: literature and cinema. The piece explores Virginia Woolf’s vision on cinema, and its future and potential. The film referenced here is ‘The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari’, a silent horror film and quintessential work of German Expressionist cinema. The set design is absolutely amazing!

Thank you @djanpringels and @volkskrant_studiov for thinking of me for this fascinating piece! 🌟
