New gun goofing with the @wilsoncombat Bulwark.

New Pistola and @redhilltactical holster with a floaty dot thingy drywall screwed to the slide. I was expecting more software issues. Only 1 hangup on a loaded start that was my fault. Soft handed the rack forgetting about the whole hammer resistance thing.

This is the @oakhillpracticalshooting action steel match. A monthly spalling indulgence that will be a staple in our local circuit moving forward. Really fun to shoot. It also has a ton of training value. Quick and efficient trigger time.

It’s been fun meeting new shooty friends this year. Definitely some legit talent.

Pm @djdavedoubles for more info!

🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀 @djdavedoubles 26-01 King Crab (modified steel)

The sunshirt game’s classifiers (contemporary) are great mini stages for acclimation.

This one has some short shorts skills that we just don’t see in the New balance 608 game. Linear turret type shots blended with lateral fanning pews. All with a good spectrum of “shots”. Noticeably layered/3D but not muddled.

Developing those skill sets have been the target this year for us. The application for entries and exits in IDPA has already been noticeable.

Scattergun + @djdavedoubles King Crab 26-01 (ish)

Last week until the fishing vest firewall. So a little fun with the boomsticks.

Today’s lesson was recoil posture/stance. A sensitization drill basically. Moving and shooting with a high recoiling gun and carrying that immediately into a pistol stage. Noting the feel and outcome compared to just running only pistol on our makeshift 26-01.

Moving and shooting with a shotgun demands a minimum level of aggressiveness or you will be on your heels.

Developing driving sensitivity is something we train specifically. What took years for me to learn on my own takes minutes for the boys to absorb.

Big W today at @mission160range and feeling good 💪🏼

First time I’ve outrun a Mike for an overall stage win

Built one of @djdavedoubles stages and had a blast on it.

2 make ups on steel and still finishing 99% on a stage.

Pretty baller run before @the.chewycookie showed us how it’s done.

7 make ups on the first stage of the day and still finishing 4th on it

Yet another classy that was fast enough to hundo but the Charlies pulled me down.

Still a W

M160 USPSA 08/23/2026

Was off pace by 8 seconds for the first two stages of the match, but @echen1508 got me a bootleg Celcius and was able to stay on pace for the remainder of the stages

Ended the match on a high note on the stage by @djdavedoubles where only me and @the.chewycookie (as far as I know) went forward in order to start shooting and keep shooting for the most amount of time before being interrupted by movement.

Channeled my inner @ipsc_scholar for analysis and most people ended up going to the right first, but would sprint to the right and sprint up to the front with only the steel target visible on entry, meaning there'd be two moments of pseudo-dead time on moving. Going forward first lets you shoot a paper target and steel on the move which resulted in only one big movement / sprint in the end, instead of sprinting right then forward.

Thanks for yelling and making me feel good about the run @cz_armorer :^) Only took me 3 stages to warm up 🥹
