The last few days, I’ve realised that I’m living the dream my 2016 self would have freaked out about. I remember attempting my first Comic Con back then, thinking, “Woooow, most of these super cool cosplays are handmade. Look at this matching group hanging out here as friends. I wish I could do the same someday!”

Ten years later, I’m living my fucking dream with the coolest people out there. Thank you for the fun times and every laugh (even in the middle of the night), the endless fun we have cosplaying together, and the deep talks, too. Thank you for making my dream come true 🤍

But looking back, I think I’ve realised that the costumes and conventions were never really the dream. The real dream was finding people I could share all of this with. People who make ordinary moments feel special, who turn late nights into memories, and who make me laugh until my stomach hurts. People I can be completely myself around, create with, be stupid with, have deep conversations with, and simply exist alongside.

And that’s what makes all of this mean so much to me. Not just the things we create, but the people we’ve become to each other along the way. I’m so incredibly grateful that our paths crossed and that I get to call you my friends. You add so much joy, warmth and meaning to my life, and I genuinely hope you know how much you mean to me.

Here’s to all the costumes we haven’t made yet, all the conventions we haven’t been to, all the nights we’ll stay up way too late, all the stupid jokes we’ll still be laughing about years from now, and all the memories we haven’t made yet.

Thank you for being my people ❤️
