Just over a year ago, I married the shit out of this handsome menace / babe of my heart on an old farm in Door County, Wisconsin. Friends and family came from the far reaches of the universe to celebrate with us and our good buddy @reverendjohn3000 officiated the ceremony.

Friends came a week early to help us set everything up. JM @jmhaileyzzz delighted us with daily loaves of homemade bread. We set up giant wedding tents and all of it. Our brothers were bartenders and our moms and aunts and friends made floral arrangements.

The day of the wedding, it rained all day and was still sprinkling as we walked up the big hill towards the ceremony site. There wasn’t really an aisle to walk down so we snuck out of the bushes. Our dogs presided over the ceremony and then immediately ran away into the woods afterwards, chasing a deer, and all our friends went crashing into the trees after them in their wedding clothes to hunt them down.

DJ FairPlay sauced up the crowd with some after dinner dancing and Charles and I gave a slideshow presentation with photos of our land so our family members could see what the hell we get up to out in the middle of the desert. The next day my entire extended family showed up to help take down the tents and clean up. It was perfect and beautiful and messy and everything we needed.

This year’s retreat has the soul of Priceless.” Former board chairs and ex-Chief Mischief Officers Maryann “Orange” Hulsman and Brian “Massive Bri” Herbek said in a joint statement, “Our 20 year record of promising and delivering on zero returns is unmatched, and we might just have to do it again.” 🌸🌲🌻
