Stop 6: Mirissa (Round 2) 🇱🇰🌅🧡

I ended up at @papayabeach.mirissa_hostel for over two weeks and realised it’s the longest I’ve stayed in the same bed since May last year!

Given the Cankle, my days mostly consisted of brunch at the ever-wonderful @shadylane_mirissa_arugambay , followed by chilling at the hostel with my journal and/or Kindle. I did make one treacherous trip to Secret Beach, and I will say the hike and stairs were very much worth it to get a dip in the Indian Ocean.

Papaya quickly became my home away from home, and it was so lovely to be surrounded by such genuine people for a few weeks. There were a couple of nights out, many family dinners, a cooking class, ring-making, afternoons in the pool and so many fab new friends.

Sri Lanka may not have been the trip I had in mind, but it turned out to be absolutely perfect. Ending with one of those famous Sri Lankan sunsets (and having a poem written about me 😏) was the icing on the cake! I will most definitely be back 💚

Swipe to see the one-legged dancing of my last night and for a read of “Ode to Katy” xo
