5 YEARS OF NICE GUYS FINISH LAST!!! 🥀

January 26, 2020, I came to Memphis to meet with @burnieamsterdam to discuss our next project. I wanted it to be conceptual to the highest degree and we discussed framing it as a stage play. It was originally meant to be a love story but, due to me experiencing a messy breakup towards the end of production, it became a classic Greek tragedy 🤣 This contributed to me making possibly my most well rounded album that til this day is most popular amongst the women who enjoy my music. I AM grateful for this project as it ages like fine wine! From deep dives about masculinity and misogyny to deep cuts on heartbreak, mental health and forgiveness. The overarching theme here is LOVE. I’m honored to have my Pops on here as my therapist as well as my mama singing my favorite hymn at the very end (which leads directly to the next project The CHRISTOWNSEND Show). I took my own money and held a release party at HiTone that I was honestly still too sad and heartbroken to perform at lmao Still, I’m proud of the work I did on this one! Here’s to 5 years of Nice Guys Finish Last! Give it a spin today! 🥀
