🏆 Ever wonder what Andre Agassi would look like with a one-handed backhand?

🎾 Not bad! Check out Agassi ripping a one-hander with the Bryan Brothers at the First Serve New Mexico event at the Forked Lightning Racquet Club.

💰 The weekend culminated in a sold-out Legendary Gala that helped raise $1.5 million for First Serve New Mexico’s youth programs, with Agassi personally contributing another $100,000.

🌴 What started as a small group of players looking for community in Miami has grown into something much bigger.

👟 Founder Ransley Carpio built Miami Racket Club around tennis, style and connection — with an invitation-only approach that puts personality and community fit alongside playing level.

🏆 All-Miami brings that same energy to a broader audience, combining competition with player kits, food, hydration, giveaways and a social feeling designed to keep people around long after the matches start.

✨ “There’s a vibe and a connection between everybody,” Carpio told Florida Tennis. “So we try to curate that.”

🏨 At the Biltmore Tennis Center in Coral Gables, the setting adds another layer — with On supporting the tournament as title sponsor and contributing giveaways and prizes for the winners.

1️⃣ Is the one-handed backhand going extinct?

🎾 For the first time since Wimbledon began in 1877, no man with a one-handed backhand reached the semifinals of a Grand Slam this year.

🏛️ The shot has produced some of the sport’s most elegant champions — Roger Federer, Evonne Goolagong, Stan Wawrinka, Gabriela Sabatini, Pete Sampras, Rod Laver, and many others — but it's starting to vanish from modern professional tennis.

📈 Why? Bigger racket heads, polyester strings, heavier topspin, slower courts and the emergence of the two-handed backhand have all moved the game, sadly, away from the one-hander.

🎨 The concern goes further. Tennis is losing some of the technical and tactical variety that once produced striking contrasts between baseliners, serve-and-volleyers and players with very different styles.

💭 Could certain changes to the game help bring that diversity back?
