It's an #NC thang y'all!!

Like any good vinyl collector would do, my man @djmooney stopped by @carolinasoulrecords last time he was in the area, where he picked up a copy of @a.g.thomas #neversaynever , an absolute NC banger from 1993.

This pressing has a beautiful String-Apella version on it and while the track has been remixed many times, in many ways, I wanted to mess with a Dancehall version. @jameshayford53 , now living in #raleighnc provides the backing track, with @bigga_bush spicing it up on his #version of "Flower of Thy Womb" recently out on @filteredeluxerecordings .

#agthomas "Never Say Never" x #shoes x #biggabush "Flower of Thy Womb"

Shout out to all the producers

And a special shout-outs to the NC hip hop community that's been holding it down from the beginning!! I remember listening to the rough cut of this at #Networks ... Shout out #GregDent

This NYE will be our last one at 225 S. Wilmington St. This building is such a special place for us, and we want to give it the goodbye it deserves. So we are throwing a huge blow out party and bringing the Busy Bee back one last time. We have our long time Chef David Mitchell coming in to cook up some of your throwback favorites & our friend & former Hive resident DJ Robert Mooney (DJ Mooney) & DJ Mike Forno will be here to spin and will be joined with some of the folks who kept our weekends pumping!

$200 includes everything; admission to the party, dinner, an open bar all night long, Champagne Toast at midnight, and gratuity.
The DJ’s are playing til 1am so the party will start the New Year off right!

5.5 years. 4.5 roles, 2 offices, 1 hell of a time.

Thank you BuzzFeed, for helping to not only shape my career but shape me as a person. Thank you for the countless memories, lessons and most importantly, new life-long friends. WHEW, it’s hard to leave but I know because of the incredible friendships formed, that it’s not at all a goodbye, but a see your asses later! LYMIBF ❤️

I am very sad to hear the news that our beloved Rusty Knot is closing its doors next weekend. Our cities are bound not to look the same when we someday emerge from COVID. But this one hurts especially. Some of the best nights of my life with some of my favorite people were spent at the Knot. A sample of those nights, and those people, featured here 📸🍹🥥🍻
