Still hard to believe last week was the very last @nlcritseries @rondomfigee
Being sick the week before I was told not to ride but that was not an option. I was planning on hiding in the peloton and waiting it out but @outsideisfloris had different plans. He attacked in the first lap and I was forced to follow. Tough race with a high pace and high temperatures.
Really proud to finish the NLCrit series riding in front with the best riders.

Thank you @nlcritseries and the whole team, I had a blast riding with you 🙏🏼

@jpjo29 dank voor dit intiatief!
@by_pattu voor de merchandise.

Doneren mag uiteraard nog steeds via www.kariu.org of via link in bio!

Handpoke marking - Bookings are open! 🥳

Yeasss Ik ben weer ONLINE!

Stay tuned for that!

For now,
Ben jij klaar voor een handpoke markering? Check mijn laatste 2 pinned posts.

LOVE ❤️

Marge

The Last Dance 💃

On Sunday the team took part in the last @nlcritseries ever 🥲
For all of our riders it is thanks to this racing series in the Netherlands that they started fixed gear racing.
Our team would probably not have been created if it wasn’t for those races, and just for that we can only be immensely grateful to the organisation for the last few years. Just thank you @nlcritseries ❤️❤️

Results wise the team had hard day with a very technical and fast circuit add 34degrees to that and you’ve got yourself a very hard race! Only @arnaudteston and @heurion.nicolas managed to finish the race in 10th and 6th position. They were in the second group for most of the race until Nicolas tried to bridge the 20sec gap between them and the first group of 6 riders. He came back in the first group just 3 laps before the finish after a long “chasse patate”!

With the team almost complete it was still an amazing last NL crit for the team. Of course we do not forget @bvanlathem who in the meantime was racing against the bests in Belgium during the Belgian road championship where she finished at a nice 82nd place ! Congrats Barbara👏

Cycling is one of the best ways to truly deep-dive into an area’s history, nature, culture and its people.

Not only exploring while riding, but also the people you meet along the road enhance the experience you’ll have around your trip.

Like this week, a whole bunch of lovely people made sure we had the best experience possible. The binding factor? Bike adventures.

How cool to get to know all about the @unesco @salpausselkageopark or the legendary fisherman Lauri Rapala through the stories of @heidipai?

Or hearing (and taste) all about the craftsmanship of brewing beer by the brothers of @kanavanpanimo?

Visiting the @malvamuseo modern art museum, eating countless local salmon dishes, visiting repurposed buildings and being inspired by the incredible fit and sports-minded Finnish were just some of the off-the-bike stuff we were lucky enough to enjoy.

But there was one finale, one evening on which it all came together: with @kalliontiina, @heidipai and @tuomas.adventurer we sailed over the (only 5 days ice-free) lake to their summer cottage. As if we left our real life struggles on shore, it really felt like meditation to be on their little island.

Chopped wood, fired up the sauna, had a bbq with some good chats and watched the sunset while enjoying a steaming hot Finnish sauna.

Does it get any better?

@visitlahti_official you are awesome!!

We’re back to reality now. But reality kicks 🍑. Today’s menu: the @breakaway.cc Primavera Gravel Event!

That’s what we said to each other about a hundred times today.

After each corner and each hill, we were rewarded with the gravel of your dreams.

Perfect gravel roads are just called ‘roads’ here around @visitlahti_official.

Just when you think you’ve hit the perfect, smooth, wide gravel, it gets even better.

Pretty amazed by this gravel capital of the world!
