The SFCBLA went live last night and it was a well spent two hour conversation. Miami Carnival faced some challenges this year and the committee addressed those concerns directly. This is certainly one of the reasons the RM team supports the organization— accepting accountability and maintaining transparency is extremely important. If you did not watch the live head over to the SFCBLA IG page and catch up. Miami Carnival is a cultural staple and we must do all that we can to evolve and preserve our beloved celebrations.

To the @sfcbla x @miabrocarnival - These conversations are much appreciated 🫶🏿🫶🏿🫶🏿

“A few folks shared language from the website for proposed amendment 3. The language is jargon heavy and can be interpreted to allow funding to be spent on AI technology to modernize emergency systems. While our emergency systems are in dire need of an upgrade it won’t be due to AI when AI hasn’t been regulated. So I will be voting no on all 3 amendments.

Don’t beat me up! I always report these are my choices and encourage you to make your own. The very same people who updated me did their own research, which is how they were able to inform me. CommuRnity!”

Carnival can be culturally successful and still require organizational improvements.

That is where accountability begins.

🙋🏾‍♀️ A question for the Carnival community:

Miami Carnival 2026 is over. Did the experience match the money, time, and expectations you invested?

It’s our favorite day of the week…
Happy #WOMAN2FOLLOWWEDNESDAY |
🗳️ Today we want to encourage the community here in Georgia to get ready to vote!! Early voting begins Oct. 13, 2026!!!

👀 Ladies our VOTE matters more than ever!!!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

🗣️1920 — Black women gained constitutional voting rights.

🗣️1965 — The Voting Rights Act helped make those rights meaningfully enforceable for millions of Black Americans.

🗣️ 2026 - WE are at risk of losing full autonomy of our bodies, decisions that impact women being made by men; VOTE because our livelihoods depend on it.
