POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My 75th and recent article for @fortyonemag is out on their first ever print issue!

i had the pleasure of talking with @arianaraygoza @foryourviewingpleasure @goals_for_gaza about the ANTI CUP, the LA-based community led response to the controversies of FIFA and the World Cup.

For one day, players, artists, creatives, and fans came together for football, culture, and advocacy, raising over $2K for @lajeeceltic in 🇵🇸 @impaktemos in 🇻🇪 and vulnerable families in 🇮🇷. The ANTI CUP shows that maybe we never really needed corporations or institutions to create meaningful change through the beautiful game, we just needed each other.

So honored to be a part of Forty-One these past three years and to be a part of the many talented writers, photographers and contributors to bring their inaugural print issue to life. Forever grateful to @elchereik for providing a space to share the diverse, unique stories that help define soccer/football in North America. They existed long beyond this year’s World Cup and they’ll continue to exist beyond it. So please feel free to reach out to me (djacolatse@gmail.com) so they can keep being told.

The issue is currently out, link in @fortyonemag bio

MEET YOUR SELEKTORS: FK.88 (@konde.oko )

Lagos-raised, Houston-based, FK’s sound is built from a lifetime of globe-trotting and informed by close to a decade of audio engineering and production. An ear for heavy bass, a love for the deep cuts, and the unapologetic merging of diverse musical worlds are all standard parts of the space he’s been developing with the Radio Lagos project.

His sound in three words? “Meticulous, unconventional, unrestrained”. From classic African records on vinyl to emerging continental sounds, he’s been building a more diverse space for African music in Houston.
