In drills such as a Split Stance throw, can easily be botched by rushing the sequence and popping out of it before creating the time & space to rotate. Set yourself up correctly and a better expression of capacities shall follow ⚡️

Focus goes where energy flows

Time keeps moving, baseball doesn’t stop for you to wait and get started. The time was yesterday

Ive done both, both work. But it’s up to you to decide which one fits your developmental season the best. Whichever one you pick, just know that you have a place here with us as your Ascent Family ⚡️

One of the most dangerous arms in high school right now is actually… a catcher

@thomas_lawler9 (up to 86 behind the dish) has been working w/ @demucci_11 & @dkeller_performance on shortening the window of time it takes to get the throw off, cleaning up the arm action and increasing efficiency towards his target

In no particular order, the top 3 ways we drive adaptations and develop good movement patterns/habits is done by feeding a flaw and amplifying it, simplifying the task in order to create an advantageous environment to get into specific positions, and testing under pressure and through external tasks.

Feeding the flaw heightens your awareness of the error and in turn, your body will fight against it. This may be challenging and uncomfortable, but irregular feedback is what pushes the needle forward

Simplifying the task generally comes from some kind of constraint, that now makes it easier to build efficient reps and new habits. This will provide a ton of confidence

Testing your new movement patterns through pressure and through a time oriented task will allow you to have not only ball flight feedback but also give you the opportunity to execute mechanical improvements while focusing on something else. This provides clarity and frees the mind. It can also be fun depending on how you go about it

I’m extremely excited and grateful to announce my commitment to Washington College to continue my academic and baseball career!

Thank you to all of my coaches throughout the years that helped me become the person and player I am today. You all helped guide me through the lowest of lows and the highest of highs.

Most importantly, thank you to my family for the endless support, sacrifices, and encouragement throughout this journey. I wouldn’t be here without you.

I’m proud to call Washington College my home and can’t wait for what’s ahead.

Go Shoremen!

Here are 3 common mistakes pitchers make when lifting
1. They compensate too heavy of weight with rows by dumping shoulder and posture. This hurts lat development as well as scapular function

2. Excessive thoracic extension during overhead pressing is seen again by overcompensating. This can also hurt your physical development and can eventually bleed into your throw

3. Skipping your dynamic warmup is an epidemic. Want to run faster, lift heavier, react faster, throw harder, stay healthy? DONT SKIP YOUR DYNAMIC!! This is just as much of a neurological primer as a physiological readiness tool
