I have been a big fan (and small collector) of @dkramer5000 work for almost a decade and finally scored a studio visit at his #greenpoint studio in Brooklyn. What a total pleasure to talk to him about his work and life while viewing masterpiece after masterpiece. I was a kid in a candy shop. David creates what one could call #analoguememes that are as funny, dead on and heartbreaking as they are entertaining. Just my speed. Thank you David for your hospitality and whippit sharp mind. ❤️❤️❤️

DAVID KRAMER WAS BORN IN 1963 IN NEW YORK, WHERE HE STILL LIVES AND WORKS ON HIS ART. HIS PAINTINGS, SCULPTURES, VIDEO WORKS, AND INSTALLATIONS HAVE BEEN EXHIBITED WORLDWIDE IN NORTH AMERICA, EUROPE, AND THE MIDDLE EAST. HE ALSO GAINED ATTENTION FOR PROVIDING ARTWORK FOR THE CELINE SUMMER 2020 COLLECTION. THIS TIME, HE HAS INTRODUCED HIS STUDIO IN BROOKLYN FOR SEI LIBRARY.
DAVID KRAMERは1963年ニューヨーク生まれ。今なお同地で暮らし、アート作品の制作を行っている。彼が手がけた絵画や彫像、映像作品、インスタレーション（空間芸術）は北アメリカやヨーロッパ、中東などで世界中で展示が行われた。また、彼はCELINE SUMMER 2020 COLLECTIONに作品を提供したことでも注目を集めた。今回は、彼がSEI LIBRARYのために、ブルックリンの彼のスタジオを紹介してくれた。

American artist David Kramer works across a variety of media, from sculpture to video, installation, performance, and painting - taking as a starting point advertisement, spreads of vintage magazines, and pornography. He works mainly with texts or storytellings – humoristic words and expressions of disillusionment of adulthood - overlaid onto images. This way, Kramer responds with disappointment and a hint of nostalgia to the promises of 1970s lifestyle magazine ads, placing the viewer in front of paradoxes and falsity of that idealized vision. Yet, his oeuvre actually says a lot about our current society. Deeply influenced by Pop Art, David Kramer defines his oeuvre as both conceptual and political. In his own words: ‘My work riffs on popular cultural expectations and desires and is subversively political of the times we live through.’
