As challenging as it is to face another Christmas without Beth Pisano, there are moments where friends and family remind me of the legacy she left behind.
.
Though it has been close to 16 months, it brings me a sense of peace knowing that Beth continues to be honored. This morning, I was humbled to join the Tom C. Clark High School Softball Program working the holiday clothing event at Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries - a place so close to Beth’s heart. Those student-athletes volunteered their time on a Saturday to make the world a better place.
.
We are blessed to be a part of the Clark, Texas family. Thank you Cougar Softball coaches and players.

Another year, another 𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗭𝗜𝗡𝗚 “𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘢𝘮𝘦” program put on by Northside ISD Athletic Director, Stan Laing and his team! To be a part of a full day of inspiring and authentic speakers with student-athletes and coaches from all the NISD high schools, as well as coaches from the middle schools (1,000+!) reinforces your belief in this generation of future leaders.

To hear from Tony Ferraro (Dream Manager), Greg Dale (Duke University), Bruce Bowen (Spurs Ring of Honor), Jeff Traylor (UTSA Football), Carey and Marcellus Casey (Kansas City Chiefs), the always incredible Stephen Mackey, and my friend and best-selling author of “The Change Agent” and “The Coffee Bean,” Damon West all in one day was, as Stan said, “like trying to drink from a firehose!” Such impactful people paying it forward.

My heart was full helping moderate discussions about 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘 and 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 with my Tom C. Clark High School student-athletes and I thank them for the honor to share in their thoughts.

Once again, we were humbled by the kindness of Coaches Rebecca Halliburton, D'Layne Kelly, Megan Low, and the Tom C. Clark High School Softball Program. You may remember that on March 16th, the team created a jersey in Beth’s honor and presented it to us with friends and family in attendance following a game. It was an amazing and heartfelt gesture, which meant so much to us because both Isabel and Catherine played at Clark. That group, along with the Athletics Department at Northside ISD are our extended family.
.
A week ago, Coach Halliburton contacted me and asked if I would consider attending the Softball Banquet because she had created a new award presented to a varsity player after the season, beginning this year, to honor Beth. We talked about what was important to Beth and how this award would best represent the values so close to her heart. To see the award last night and the criteria that were used to determine its recipient was perfect.
.
The inscription reads: “𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙝𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙨𝙢, 𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚, 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨.”
.
The player who received it was Senior, 𝗔𝗹𝘆𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀, and just from the players' reaction, coaches, and parents, I knew that she embodied all of those traits that made her a servant leader.
We are so blessed to have such incredible friends who continue to honor Beth in ways we never imagined. It makes my heart happy knowing that Beth’s legacy will continue to live on.

𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻.

Writing has always been my therapy, regardless of the circumstance. With hundreds of blogs and video segments through Charge Up - Building The Champions Mindset, I’m blessed to have the outlet to share with others. However, the chapter that I’ve contributed to, “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲” is different than anything else I’ve ever written because it was a reflection of my most vulnerable self. I honestly didn’t know if I could do it, but with some help (Alma Pisano Hunter and Betsy Barnum Morris - 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 ❤️), I knew in my heart that it was something Beth Pisano would have expected me to do - especially with Chip Baker Tsc. That’s why it’s dedicated to her. ❤️
