Back in April we ran a jam-packed Nature Connection Camp full of fun and informative activities to show our wonderful attendees the beauty of the Peninsula’s flora and fauna, as well as the inspiring work by other volunteer groups that is happening. Grateful for the 20 new members who joined us and for our group growing! Watch this space as we plan more exciting events in the future. #youthvolunteering #environment #melbournewater #intrepidlandcare #westernport #education #conservation #landcare #biodiversity

A sneak peek into a typical day volunteering with @ecobargecleanseas out on the water. The team of amazing volunteers are so fun to be around, and I have loved meeting like-minded people. If you're keen to help volunteer to continue making the beautiful Whitsundays amazing, feel free to message me for more details. Did I mention lunch is provided?! #lovewhitsundays #environment #fishlids

Day 2. The crew from the Nature Connection Camp headed to @_uncommon_folk for a farm tour. It was inspiring to hear from owner, Beth, on how they are trying to change how we think of land ownership and create a collective of sustainable food growers and land managers. Greg from MPLandcare Network helped us plant some trees and learn about the importance of shelter belts and farm biodiversity. Then we were fortunate for Lionel and Hudson from @wearelivingculture to share their culture and wisdom with us about the plants and land down at Greens Bush. We ended the weekend with a digerido (Yidaki) meditation under the sun 🌞
We’d like to shout out to the wonderful Nicki from Torello farms for feeding us delicious local sustainable food. And to Chantal Morton, @mplandcare and @melbournewater for supporting our camp and group 💚
