I got the opportunity to be one of producers for the @BarsOverBarsPDX cypher last night, held at the lovely @503recordsllc

Wanna give a big shout out to Aaron who runs the 503 Records Shop, @DDwili for putting on the amazing event, another shoutout to the producer who played stupid fire beats alongside me @Sir_PeteWorthii aka PlayOffPete.

There by the grace of the algorithm, I came across @k_wainpdx a few months ago, super talented local artist, (buy his music!), community convener - bringing performers together for cyphers and open mics, and third space creator for youth, and through him learned about the scene happening out at @503recordsllc in Beaverton. I was hooked, immediately yes. ("I want to go to there" à la Liz Lemon.) Took me a bit, but finally made it out there tonight for @barsoverbarspdx. And it was AMAZING. Can't wait to go again. The talent. The vibes. All ELITE. ✨😊🌟💛 Didn't catch all performances or names but here's a few snaps from the night. 🎶🥰🎶

💛Intergenerational healing is possible and real. 💛
I love being sandwiched between these two generations with my siblings and our spouses. Longevity, loyalty, connected. #itsbeenadecade #nature #play #familytime #healinggenerations

Thank you @shadypinesfestival for having us! The vibe was incredible.

And shout out to my guys @grandroyalemusic for letting me give my best impression of Q-Tip on “Get It Together” in front of a giant @harefestcanby crowd!

@taizahreed was sweet enough to take some photos for us at the American Dream show! We had a great time.

I’m so late posting this but the @telltalepdx Livin the American Dream show was such a great show and there were so many great story tellers!

Darlings, the show is today, and it feels like an important one. This country is finding new ways to break my heart—not that any of it surprising, or hadn’t been happening to certain folks all along—but damn, it’s a gauntlet of bad news to take in sometimes. I’m tired. Are you tired? Because the only thing I know how to do is get people together in a room to tell stories. And these stories are going to be good. Are you going to be there? Plus help us raise some money for mutual aid folks in Venezuela?

Alright, let’s do it again. This month, we’re going with mostly professional storytellers sharing their take on the “American Dream”. We’ve got some dope folks on this lineup! Plus we are going to do a raffle to benefit Aquí Estamos, a queer mutual aid group in Venezuela raising funds for queer and trans venezuelans to buy groceries, data plans for their phones, and other necessities while they under siege from multiple dictatorships. If you’d like to donate to them directly, feel free to DM me! Otherwise, see you at the show!
