POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The fears people have are specific, and mostly unspoken.

@dmajorbnr has done the work of actually listening to what parents are worried about, right down to details you'd never guess from a boardroom.

That's the job. Not assuming what the concern is. Asking, then building around the real answer.

Most companies solve the problem they imagined instead of the one that exists.

Nobody's real objection is the price.

It's whether they can trust you with the thing that matters most to them.

@dmajorbnr built the whole company around that single question, and it reframes everything. Not how do we get more riders. How do we remove the reason someone hesitates.

Find the actual objection. It's almost never the one people say out loud.

The family showed up to the podcast.

And it changed the whole thing, in the best way.

You learn more about a man in ten minutes with his wife and kids in the room than in an hour of him talking about his company.

Whatever you're building is being built on top of them. Worth remembering on the weeks it gets hard.

Every company has an origin story. Most of them are cleaned up.

@dmajorbnr told me the actual one, and like every real version it's messier and more human than the pitch deck.

What I keep noticing is that the good ones all start the same way. Somebody saw a problem they couldn't stop thinking about and was stubborn enough to do something about it.

His faith got strongest in the hardest season.

That's not how most people expect it to work. We assume ease produces gratitude and hardship produces doubt.

It's usually the reverse. @dmajorbnr described the stretch where he had the least and believed the most.

Comfort is where faith goes quiet. Pressure is where it gets tested and turns into something load-bearing.

The point was never to accumulate.

@dmajorbnr is building something substantial and the giving isn't a line item at the end. It's the reason.

That order matters. Build to give and the money has a job. Build to have and it never quite feels like enough, no matter what the number says.

Ask anybody who hit the number.

They're not buying growth. They're earning it.

@dmajorbnr broke down a strategy on the podcast that runs against everything the venture playbook teaches. Quality first, slower, organic.

It's harder and it takes longer and it produces something that doesn't evaporate when the ad spend stops.

You can rent attention. You have to build trust.

Taking a Black-owned tech company public.

That's the goal, said out loud, on a podcast, before it's happened.

I have a lot of respect for that. Most people keep the big one private so the failure stays quiet. @dmajorbnr said it into a microphone.

Stating it publicly is a commitment device. It's also how you find out who's actually with you.

Trust doesn't scale on good intentions. It scales on process.

@dmajorbnr walked me through what actually happens before one of @waverideshare's drivers picks up a child. Trunk checks. Verification. Steps that sound tedious until you remember what's being handed over.

That's the unglamorous machinery underneath the word trust.

Anybody can say they're trustworthy. Very few build the system that makes it true when nobody's watching.

My Saturday before most alarms went off:

Leg day in the gym. Red light therapy and infrared sauna at R5 Wellness. Then coffee with Diondre Lewis & Troy Hoffman, two GSD Corner members, talking vision.

Faith, health, relationships, business, finances. The Core 5 is not a framework I teach. It is a schedule I keep, weekends included.

INCREMENTAL not MONUMENTAL.

The Proximity Series was live in Alpharetta, & two of my good friends carried the day. Michael Besson, CEO of Christian.com, taught on Encouragement, The Amplifier Frequency, the truth that the most powerful sentence a leader can say is I see it in you. Then Diondre Lewis, CEO of Wave rideshare and a GSD Corner member, closed on Servanthood, The Leadership Frequency, the authority no title can give you.

Both frequencies are chapters from 14 Frequencies of Proximity, and here is what moved me: the book does not release until October 14, and leaders I love are already teaching it. That is the whole point. This message was never supposed to stay mine.

Grateful for every person in that room and everyone who joined virtually.

The book drops October 14. Free chapter now: growstackdrive.com/14
