Faith. Sports. Wealth. Legacy.
🕌📿🤲🏽🏀🏈⚽️📈💵💼

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to represent Farther Edge in Houston as a proud sponsor of The Standard Muslim Athlete Summit. It was an intimate gathering bringing together athletes, coaches, agents, executives, business professionals and community leaders.

It was a pleasure connecting with Houston Texans Azeez Al-Shaair and Ali Gaye, Sanoussi Kane of the Tennessee Titans and Egyptian basketball player Ismael Massoud, while also spending time with coaches, agents and sports executives, including longtime NBA executive Chris Wallace.

Just as meaningful was reconnecting with people who have been part of my journey for years including my longtime friend Husain Abdullah (Retired NFL Safety) and my teacher and respected community leader Dr. Altaf Husain.

Some relationships were new. Others picked up where they left off years ago.

This event was about bringing people together around faith, community, business and life beyond the game.

From a wealth-management perspective, that mission resonates deeply with the work we’re building through Farther Edge. An athletic career can create tremendous opportunity, but turning that opportunity into lasting wealth requires planning, discipline and the right people around you. Athletes deserve fiduciary guidance that puts their interests first, and Muslim athletes should have access to sophisticated financial planning and investment strategies that align with their faith and values without having to compromise either.

A special thank you to @nimrahyasmeen and the @siraat.strategies team behind The Standard for the vision, hard work and intentionality that went into pulling off such a successful event. Seeing the team recognized on stage was well deserved. Creating a space like this for Muslim athletes and the broader sports community takes tremendous effort, and I’m grateful Farther Edge had the opportunity to support it.

I also had the opportunity to spend some time with NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon! A special moment to cap off an already meaningful trip.
