In honor of this Juneteenth passing, I wanted to share the first documentary I’ve ever made in my film career. This was my senior thesis, “HBCU’s: THE UNSPOKEN”. I made this documentary because no one in my schools knew the importance that HBCU’s have made to many black Americans. For me, my HBCU was a fresh start and a step in the right direction for my personal development. I wouldn’t be who I am today without having black professors, peers, and leaders surrounding me. I share this piece of my film with yall, and I hope yall will watch the full project on YouTube!!!

Chicago📍

I’ve only been twice once with family, and once on tour with the @baldxbrothers and the guys🙏🏿
but it’s already my favorite city to visit.

The architecture is crazy.
The way the river run through the city🔥
The Riverwalk is different fr.
And the food? yeah nah, Chicago don’t play.

Every time I go, it feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface yet.

It’s a beautiful city, I’m definitely coming back again and again.

What’s y’all favorite city to visit? 👇

AIYSHA❤️SINCLAIR | Aiysha once told me her name, means life. And what an AMAZING LIFE. I've been contemplating for a week about my dear friend Aiysha. I've felt every emotion all in one wrapped in numbness. Aiysha is a creative force of nature. A mother, a sister, a loyal friend, a healer, an artist, actor, creator, singer, helper, a fairy godmother, a Queen, a light that can brighten up any darkness. The list goes on! She will never be forgotten. She told me her greatest achievement was being the mother to Azora.
.
I first met her doing Educational Theatre at Kaiser Permanente, and we hit it off right off the bat. We were cast in this play "Kimberly Akimbo" for conservatory, and she had the whole room bursting in laughter, as her character yelled, "We family!" And from that point on, we were indeed "family." We had so many cool memories together. Wonderful conversations about life and spirituality. We really bonded when she asked me to help her paint and design an office space for Stranger Comics. You really get to know someone when you do a long unglamorous task together. As we painted we bonded over growing up in the 80s, watching "The Last Dragon," and listening to R&B and En Vogue. Whenever En Vogue comes on, I'll know that you are saying hello to us.
.
I thought we had a lil more time together. I'm just glad we said, "love you," when we last physically saw each other. I was so inspired & proud of you, when I last saw you in your element. As a curator, a mother, a community builder, a fighter, an author, a rare diamond of a human, and a captivating performer, as you read from your book to eager children ready to be swept away by your stories. You are magic. Life is quite a journey and a mystery. To take your own words, Aiysha you are and were "good folk." ❤️ @brownsugarfairybooks @aiyshasinclair
