Last Sunday night, we performed our first experimental contemporary Iron Rod Puppet show inside a temple.

Usually we look out at an audience. This time, we looked up at the deities.

The atmosphere was unlike any theatre, uncles and aunties chatting, lanterns glowing alongside stage lights, regular temple-goers and foreign visitors sitting side by side watching the same show.

We've always brought this art to the public. But this time, we wanted to ask: 𝑖𝑓 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑟, 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑎 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒?

Thank you to Hor Kai Kong Temple for making this happen, and to everyone who came. This is just the beginning.

上个星期日晚上，我们完成了第一场在庙宇里的实验性当代铁枝木偶献演。

以往望下舞台都是观众，这次却换成了一尊尊的神明。

现场的气氛和剧场很不一样。演出进行中夹杂着阿公阿嬷的谈话声；舞台灯光搭配着一排排的灯笼；常来上香的香客和初次接触的外国人，就这样并排坐着，看着同一场演出。

这些年我们走遍各种活动和舞台，把这门艺术带给更多人认识。但这一次，我们想问的是另一个问题：如果有一天，传统的演出真的消失了，这些新的故事，还能不能在庙宇里找到位置？

感谢元营宫的鼎力支持，也谢谢每一位来到现场的观众朋友。这只是第一步，我们会带着更多的力量继续往前和探索。

這張海報裡的塗鴉，塗在我們公司門口很多年了。
當初是因為提醒自己不要忘記初心，
也因為要提醒我們，要用心做好每一部作品。

這個週末，
來看看在Ai出現之前，
在自媒體時代之前，
在拍攝商業廣告之前，
我那些遊走在光與暗之間的獨立短片。

懸疑、孤獨，還有人性的縫隙。
沒有明確答案，
也沒有客戶方向，
只有一個人對「故事」最原始的相信。

我一直相信，
電影就像拼圖。

有些答案，
不是當下告訴你的，
而是你在人生某一個時刻，
突然就看懂了。

I’m back，to the same heartfelt story, the same family.🥹💗

It truly feels like a dream. This year, I had the honour of returning for the MCD ad “The Blessing,” once again playing Jane. Though in a featured role dis time, just being able to step back into this warm narrative means so much.

I never imagined that the “young daughter” from last year’s “The Wish” would be remembered & chosen to continue dis family’s next chapter. This trust is an incredible encouragement to me. Really, I never even dreamed of it.

I’m so grateful to hv worked again with the wonderful Director @dickchua , Assistant Director @ksoooon , and the entire crew @dmovingpictures and client team @mcdonaldsmalaysia . Every moment on set felt like coming home ，learning so much amidst laughter, and feeling the warmth of creation in every detail. Thank you for always making me feel safe to be Jane.

In this story, Jane may not have many scenes, but her one question is like a pebble dropped into still water，rippling through the heart of the narrative. If it moved you, then it was all worth it.🥹🫶🏻

If you haven’t seen the prequel “The Wish,” I invite you to watch it first to fully feel the deeper bonds in “The Blessing.” Keep some tissues handy ，this one is a gentle answer about choosing to stay.

When @timstone Timothy first reached out, I was honestly in disbelief. I never imagined that RHB Bank @rhbgroup together with Tunku Hazli and the team; would choose to feature KTJ’s story and my personal journey in their Chinese New Year commercial. It is truly an honour beyond words.

Watching the story come to life through the lens of D’Moving Pictures was incredibly touching. Dick and Jocny captured not just what we do, but why we do it, the heart, the struggles, and the quiet strength behind every stitch. Thank you so much for the warmth and comfort given during the shoot too! 🫶🏻

Seeing KTJ’s journey reflected back to me on screen brought me to tears.

HANDS #手集团全新演奏会，以鼓声诉说情谊与连结，即将在11月14日至16日一连5场演出。每一次击打，不只是节奏，更是师徒间的信任、父母子女的默契，以及跨文化交流的火花。

這幾天在準備週末要分享的內容，
翻回了好多以前追夢的畫面。😅

「我不強，但我站著。」
這不是一個成功逆轉的故事，
而是說一個，還在延續的信念。

曾經，手上握著笨重的錄影機，
從菲林相機，到DV CAM，單眼相機，再到Cinema Cam,
一路追夢，時代不斷變，科技也不斷更新。

現在，拍片只需要一部手機。
也許，不久的將來，連這個行業都不再存在了。
可夢想的重量，依然和當年一樣沉。

這些畫面对我来说仿佛像昨天一样。
而我，也還在等著那一句經典的口號：
“Good shot, move on!”

我要衷心感谢 @mcdonaldsmalaysia 和 @dickchua @dmovingpictures 给予我这次宝贵的机会。在众多优秀的白人演员和童星中,选择了我这个没有太多经验的普通人来担任主角,这对我来说意义非凡。这是我人生中第一次担任主角,也是第一次拍广告,我非常感激麦当劳和各位高层对我的认可,让我能够拥有这样难得的机会。

这部广告的故事让我感触很深,因为它很像现实生活中的我们一一面对家人和文化,有时会因为语言或情感表达而显得笨拙甚至不知所措。在广告中,我饰演了一位从国外留学回来的“banana”角色,这种身份让我更深刻地体会到家庭情感的重要性。虽然我本人不是“banana”,但通过这个角色,我学到了用心表达的重要性,也更加理解了语言背后承载的情感和文化价值。

在面试还没成功前,导演曾问我:“你有婆婆吗?”其实,我并没有。我从未见过婆婆,也没有感受过来自婆婆的爱。她在我出生之前就因为车祸去世了。这次饰演这个角色,让我有了一次机会去感受“有婆婆”的感觉,哪怕只是短暂的表演,也让我无比感动。非常感谢剧组、导演和麦当劳让我拥有了这样一次特别的体验。

在casting的过程中,我也经历了不少困难。为了让这个角色更贴近“banana”的形象,我需要每天练习,反复揣摩如何把一些普通的词语说得像真的不会华文。比如“长命百岁”这样的祝福语,我要故意说成“苍蝇百岁”,这种细节对表演来说是一个不小的挑战,但我坚持下来了。通过这样的练习,不仅让我更加贴近角色,也让我学会了如何以不同的方式去理解和表达情感。

在整个拍摄过程中,我收获了很多,不仅有表演的经验,还有来自导演、副导演以及所有工作人员和临时演员的关怀和教导。你们的耐心和支持让我感到无比温暖。我也特别想感谢我的家人,从早到凌晨陪伴着我,一起经历了超过24小时的拍摄。虽然广告成片不到3分钟,但每一刻的努力和付出都让我深感珍惜。

这次经历不仅是一次学习和成长,更是我16岁最棒的礼物。感谢大家对我这个毫无经验的小孩的支持与认可, 我会带着这份感恩继续努力,不辜负所有人的期待!🥹🫶🏻
