Leonie has been a friend of mine for many years. And she is one of the many wonderful animal personalities living at @hof_narr_in who you can meet at the upcoming @arten_festival

A harpist playing next to the horses, a dance performance about spiders, insect theater and so much more. 🐷🪩🐴💄🎭🕷️🪉🪰

It will be a magical weekend and as the artistic director behind the project who put a lot of love and care into this festival, I can only say: save the date and get your tickets. It will be unique and magical.

Cindy Van Acker / Cie Greffe presents:
Without References

🎟️ Tickets for upcoming screening at Kino Xenix:
1.3.2024, 11:30—14:15

«Without References» is a production by Cindy Van Acker in cooperation with the Japanese group Goat, the Italian stage director Romeo Castellucci and eleven dancers. The piece addresses questions of temporality, transience and the leaving of traces. Appearing before an opulent backdrop, the figures meet in a place that is not clearly defined: are they inside a waiting room, a train station or – judging from the costumes – on a 1950s film set? Like earlier works by Cindy Van Acker, «Without References» has a strict formal and choreographic structure, each gesture and movement deployed with precision. Despite this formal strictness, however, the evening’s dramaturgy conveys something mysteriously latent and inscrutable. What, we ask ourselves, lurks within this room with its cool appearance?
👁️ Trailer: https://vimeo.com/563742196

👤 Biography: Cindy Van Acker is a choreographer and dancer. After completing her classical dance training in Antwerp, she joined the Ballet Royal de Flandre before joining the Ballet du Grand Théâtre in Geneva in 1991. There, she founded Cie Greffe in 2002, which has been funded since 2009 by the City and Canton of Geneva and the Swiss cultural foundation Pro Helvetia through a cooperative support agreement. Her pieces are characterized by the combination of sober aesthetics, simple movements, painstaking compositions and electronic music. Taking an almost scientific approach, she examines the connections between body, spirit, sound and rhythm, creating pieces that blur the boundaries between dance, performance and visual arts. Since November 2017, Cindy Van Acker has been an associate artist at the Association pour la Danse Contemporaine (ADC) in Geneva and responsible for its artistic programme. In 2023 she won the renowned Swiss Grand Prix for the Performing Arts.

Performance: S. Bayle, M. Chayrigues, C. Da Costa, A. Dougé, S. Garcia, P. Girard, Y. Ishikawa, M. Masse, A. Massoni, D. Zaghini, L. Laurent

Teresa Vittucci, Annina Machaz & Theater HORA presents:
SACRE!

🎟️ Tickets for upcoming shows at Tanzhaus Zürich, Bühne 1:
1.3.2024, 18:00—19:00
2.3.2024, 18:00—19:00

The scandal-ridden dance piece «Le Sacre du Printemps», which culminates in the sacrifice of a young woman dancing herself to death, is reinterpreted by the ensemble of Theater HORA with plenty of humour. Bassoon or trumpet? God of spring or robot? Ritual or group pressure? And when does an index finger really become a lethal claw? In this production by Teresa Vittucci and Annina Machaz, the issues of the original are really shaken up. From costumes designed especially for «SACRE!» by the performers, the players emerge like caterpillars in ecstasy. The seasons go into fast-forward and a countdown against time begins. Who is to be sacrificed, then? And, most importantly: who not? Together with the performers, the viewers go on a trip and give in to this thrilling experience.
From 12 years and over

👤 Biographies: Theater HORA from Zurich is one of the most well-known independent dance, theatre and performance groups of Switzerland. The group works regularly with renowned artists and collectives from Switzerland and abroad, presenting its productions at local, regional and international venues.

Teresa Vittucci is a choreographer and performer whose artistic practice is located at the interface of performance, contemporary dance, absurd comedy and film. She has worked with Nils Amadeus Lange, Claire Sobottke, Simone Augtherlony and many others.

Annina Machaz completed a master’s degree in scenic arts practice at the Bern Academy of the Arts. In 2014 she won the Swiss cultural and encouragement award PREMIO together with Mira Kandathil and Nils Amadeus Lange for their performance «Follow us»; that same year, she founded her own D.C.C.ompany. As a performer, she has worked with Ivo Dimchev, Nils Amadeus Lange and currently with Florentina Holzinger.
