as a beginner dancer, these three qualities really stand out to me wen im taking class:

1. hearing the song at the start of class. everyone knows what im talking about when it comes to feeling the musicality/lyrics. having a preview is what helps bridge the mind to muscle connection early on

2. encouraging a positive environment. the instructor really sets the tone of how the class behaves. even something as simple as “let’s high five” or “good job every 8 count” makes a world of difference.

3. going slow. if the instructor takes their time slow at least once, and I mean slowwww, that helps my 4 GB brain to retain the counts
