Coral velvet against emerald, an antique carved table doing the quiet work of holding everything together.

This is the room we actually live in — not staged, not roped off.

PART I: Parents of daughters if you aren’t enraged by what they’re doing to our daughters ... you really should be.

Have you ever asked yourself why there’s such a push to get young girls medicated to navigate their emotions more effectively?

As a mother to 3 daughters. I have.

I’ve been asking myself this question for YEARS.

The overwhelming rate at which young girls are being “coached” to be more “regulated” is alarming.

What is society at large so afraid of with our young, bright, bold girls?

It wouldn’t be that strength of character, and being confident in your femininity and power is harder to control ... would it???

Maybe. Maybe not.

Whatever it is I don’t like this trend of medicating our daughters to be more tolerable.

If you’re the parent of a daughter I encourage you to go the extra mile in understanding your daughter and giving her the space to get to know herself, every single messy beautiful facet of herself, so she may grow and become whole much younger than we did.

Can I get an Amen?

When you plan a surprise party *this* is the reaction you want!
I was thrilled to celebrate @sharon_grech’s 30 years with @benjaminmoore this week. Why? Because she is, and always has been one of the most balanced souls you’ll meet.

She blessed Cityline with her signature mix of professionalism and artistic expression for years and now she gets to discover her next chapter. A fan favourite but truly a personal favourite for me designing some of the most loved rooms in my house.

Sharon - you are so loved.
And @dianegallard - you knocked it outta the park my girl. Well done 🎉

And years later you will be making an Instagram reel and you will realize that those WERE the good times—the journey, the challenge, the joy, the pain, the laughter, the kick in the groin and everything in between. Here’s to generations more laughter around the family table ❤️🥂.

Camera man is a matchy-matchy type 😉. The upside of this slow renovation? We're mastering slow decorating. When we started searching in Upstate, we thought we'd find a rustic farmhouse, but this "country-house" stole our hearts. It’s has a blend of finer features and Victorian charm—strip hardwood as opposed to wide-plank floors, the curved wrap-around porch. We're still leaning into a rustic vibe with natural, time-worn materials. The 6x6 checkered pattern in tumbled stone strikes a balance between the finer, strip hardwood and the rustic warmth we want to evoke. The Rosewood marble's pink hue has guided our color choices: soft whites, beiges, and rich camels and browns. I’m glad we were taking it slow and really soaking in the house’s natural energy. #slowdecorating #upstatenewyork #hudsonvalley #restoration
