And into the forest I go,
to lose my mind,
and find my soul

~ John Muir
🌲🌲🌲

Another sunday, another……no peak hike today, more…..ridge rambling.

Today we rambled up ‘Skriva’(395m,1295ft) near the childhood home of one of my hiking buddies.
Along the way he shared childhood memories and showed us the house were he grew up.

It got me thinking how rootless I am…
I’m born in Sweden, grew up in the US and have lived in Norway since I was 13.
How I envy those with childhood homes and neighbourhoods…🏡🏘️🏡🏘️

At the top there was of course time for vocal ramblings along with tea and a treat.
Since it was a relatively warm day for the season,
I enjoyed a sparkling tea from @twiningsuk ‘Revive’ a green tea infusion with sweet peach and apple with elderflower,
and a delicious sweet cardamom bun with almonds.
We do great baked goods in the Nordics, but if you want to see some really tasty cakes and pastries , look at what @franzencamilla posts of her fika treats.

No big pack today, just my cross-body pouch from @klattermusen , great for those shorter walks/rambles or for easy access to a bottle water on longer hikes.

……..Have a great remainder of the weekend and I hope the coming week brings you some sunshine……☀️…….

This week’s hiking tip 🤫 Step into the legend at 📍 Gygrestolen in Bø – where rugged cliffs, autumn colors, and folklore create pure magic. ✨🍂

🍂 Distance: 5.9 km (round trip)
🍂 Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
🍂 Duration: About 3 hours (without breaks)

✨ Fun fact: Legend says that the giantess Gygra once threw massive boulders across Bø in anger – and that when Gygrestolen finally falls, the world will come to an end. 🫢
