It’s another late, late session recap, but better-than-never right? I’ve been managing to spend less time on social media recently which is definitely good for my mental health, but probably not so great for promoting a reggae disco. Anyway, I’m glad this documentation of the events gets to live somewhere. September was a good one. Ray was wonderful as always, and Tiny T smashed it once again (particularly enjoyed his little heavy roots section in the last half hour with Doc Murdoch jumping on the mic, one of the reasons you should always try and stay until the end!). Big up Jas and Magda for these photos and videos, everyone that came, and all the crew at the Trades Hall.

Next session coming up fast - on Friday 9 October we are hosting a DUB REVOLUTION when David Katz comes and talks about his recently published book of the same name, before taking to the decks to play some of the tunes discussed, alongside Ras P of the mighty Entebbe Sound System. Opening the doors an hour early at that one to fit everything in, so 7pm start and advance tickets highly recommended, link in bio or look up the book title on Eventbrite.

Last but not least - our beloved home, the Walthamstow Trades Hall, is under threat from a planned 5 storey residential development right next door, see their posts for more details. The local council aren’t making it easy, but if you have 10 minutes to register with the ‘placehub” section of the Waltham Forest Council website to leave a comment in support of this lovely, volunteer run, inclusive and unique place then it would be very much appreciated. So many of these kind of community spaces have closed down in London (and everywhere really) in the past few years that it’s vital we hold on to the ones we still have.

A few moments from our last Sunday Reggae Bake, where we had the honour of welcoming the mighty Duke Peckings as our special guest. 🔥🎶

Duke’s set was truly amazing — eclectic, unique and full of beautiful selections. It was a real reflection of his deep passion, knowledge and love for reggae music.

What makes Duke so special is the humble way he shares that knowledge. He doesn’t just play music — he lives it, and he loves sharing it with people, bringing everyone together through the music and the vibes.

Big respect, Duke, and thank you for sharing your sound and your energy with us. ❤️💛. A big thank you once again to everyone who came down and supported Sunday Reggae Bake. ❤️💛💚

As always, you are truly the reason we love putting these nights together. Your energy, support and love for the music make it all worthwhile.

And a special thank you to Carla for the amazing pictures and videos, capturing all the right moments and helping us keep these memories alive. 📸🎥

Until the next one… pure niceness!
