Still buzzing from the incredible experience of performing the sold-out show of "A Jute Lascar Story" as part of the @southasianheritagemonth_uk.

A huge thanks to @imbuenomad for your research that formed the spine of this story and @doc_csalih for writing and directing this fantastic script.

Shoutout to the best cast ever: @rubayetalsharif
@amirillou @saqlain_zia @ahmedofficial_fineartist @alvan_carthigan @t.asniaa and Anthony.

Had the loveliest time working on this production, the intense rehearsals and fun moments behind the scenes together were truly some of the most creatively energising times I had this year. Thank you for engaging with my attempts at assistant directing and recrafting scenes, too. Your support really means a lot.

Can't wait to bring this show back for the @seasonofbangladrama on 22nd November. Be ready to get tickets as soon as they drop to watch us perform this fantastic play inspired by the history of Jute and the stories of the lascars whose journeys across the seas built the world we inherited.

Congratulations Rokeya Project!

ASHA (Hope) by @showmidance combined dance, movement and spoken word to tell the stories of six young women.

✨ Developed in collaboration with Dr. Canan Salih (creative writing) @meb4uwoz2blu and Showmi Das (choreography), ASHA turns personal poems into an inspiring and empowering experience.

💡 Presented by The Rokeya Project, which uses art and storytelling to address societal issues like feminism, extremism, and global challenges.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this chilly November day for DYBSIOSIS: CREATIVE NATURE WORKSHOP! 🍂✨

Held in the stunning Ecology Pavilion at Mile End Park, our workshop observed nature's changes, beauty, and complexity. Surrounded by the serene backdrop of the park and the reclaimed wetlands, we explored creative ways to engage with the natural world.

🌱 What We Did:
- Shared insightful conversations about how we connect with nature in an ever-changing world.
- Explored the concept of Dysbiosis—imbalance in ecosystems—and how it parallels human relationships with the environment.
- Used art, writing, and mindfulness exercises to deepen our appreciation of the interconnectedness of all life.

❄️ Despite the cold weather, the warmth of community and the inspiring discussions kept our spirits high. From the fallen leaves to the crisp air, we embraced the beauty of autumn transitioning into winter whilst consuming biryani and countless cups of tea!

Stay tuned for future workshops

Paul and Tasnim x

Good morning everybody

As the Founder and President of Medi Foundation and Medi Foundation Student Society, I am sharing this post to request your support through donations. These funds will help us continue our important work, covering our expenses and enabling us to move forward with all our projects to help students and the local communities.

We’ve been growing rapidly over the past five years, expanding from Magusa to Lefkosa. Your donations will help us address critical areas, including:

1. **Scholarships and Financial Aid for Students**
Donations will provide scholarships and financial support to students in need, enabling them to continue their education.

2. **Community Outreach Programs**
Your support will help us expand our community engagement efforts through educational workshops, seminars, and events focused on topics such as legal rights, mental health, and addiction recovery.

3. **Support for Local Families**
We also aim to assist local families facing financial or health-related challenges, strengthening our connection with the broader community.

4. **Mental Health Resources**
Donations will help fund mental health initiatives, including counseling services and therapy sessions for those who cannot afford professional help.

5. **Training and Professional Development**
We will use donations to offer training programs for students and community members, equipping them with skills in areas like legal education and entrepreneurship.

6. **Cultural Exchange and Inclusivity Programs**
Your contributions will help us expand our cultural initiatives, such as student exchange programs and community events that promote inclusivity and diversity.

7. **Infrastructure and Expansion**
As we continue to grow, donations will help improve our physical spaces and expand our operations into new regions, creating more opportunities to serve.

Your generosity will make a direct and lasting impact, allowing us to continue helping students, address addiction and mental health challenges, and raise awareness on key issues.

Thank you for your support!

In this inspiring video, Dr. Canan Salih shares her journey as an academic and her vital role in the Medi Foundation Student Society. She talks about the society’s work in supporting international students in adapting to life in Northern Cyprus, as well as organizing key events and seminars. At our foundation, we believe in the importance of building strong communities and providing support, especially in the areas of addiction recovery and mental health.
