Something big is docking in Docklands 🛥️

The Melbourne Boat Show 2026 is back for its 64th year, and the boats are already rolling in! Hundreds of boats across five marinas, tall ships, wooden boats, live fishing demos in a 14,000L Supertank, seafood cooking demos and a kids zone.

Back at the Deadlocked film set in Docklands, and this time I caught the big explosion scene live 💥🎬

Watching a real Hollywood movie being filmed in Melbourne is something else. The whole of Bourke Street is closed off, there’s crew everywhere, NYPD cars, smoke, and then one huge blast. All that behind the scenes setup for just a few seconds on screen 🤯

Jamie Foxx’s new movie Deadlocked is filming in Melbourne this month, and Docklands has completely turned into New York City 🗽 If you’re looking for something different to do in Melbourne, filming continues on and off until 20 October around Bourke St

Went out for groceries tonight and somehow walked into New York 🗽

Bourke Street in Docklands has been completely transformed for the filming of Deadlocked with @iamjamiefoxx 🎬 NYPD cars, police barricades, American mailboxes, newspaper stands, even a Brooklyn address on the trucks. The detail is unreal. Standing there at night, it honestly felt like I’d stepped onto a New York street.

If you’re around the area, here’s what you need to know 👇

📍 800 Bourke St, Captains Walk & Geographe St, Docklands
🗓️ Filming: 10 to 14 Oct and 17 to 20 Oct, roughly 7am to 7pm
💥 This weekend (Sat 10 & Sun 11 Oct, 8am to 7pm) there’ll be blank ammunition, loud bangs and explosions at 800 Bourke St, so don’t panic!

🚧 Bourke St is closed between Harbour Esplanade and Enterprize Way, so use Collins St to get to Victoria Harbour. Pedestrian access stays open and Bourke St businesses are open as usual.

Who else spends all their free time finding new spots to eat?

This weekend we visited @komemelbourne 🍚 This cute cafe serves Japanese comfort food and specialty drinks in Docklands and we were impressed! 🥢

We tried the Flaming Salmon Bowl, Teriyaki Tofu Teishoku, and Unagi Katsu Teishoku, alongside a few of their signature cloud drinks. Everything was really tasty and the portions were generous too 🍱

It gets very busy at lunchtime so I’d recommend booking ahead if you’re visiting during peak times. There’s indoor & outdoor seating available ☕️

They also have some super cute tote bags ($19.90) and Omamori ($11.90) available too so you can take home a souvenir of your visit 🛍️
