In 2007, Nacho Estrada introduced me to the art of ventriloquism and took me to my very first Vent Haven Convention. This year’s 50th Anniversary was a reminder that while he’s no longer with us, his legacy lives on through every laugh, every friendship, and every performer. Thanks to my beautiful wife @trexalexa for surprising me with tickets last minute as well ! Grateful for this amazing community and already looking forward to next year. ❤️🎭

🍁🥧 Annual Thanksgiving Give Back! 🦃💛

It is that time of year again, our seventh Annual Thanksgiving Give Back. Each year, we identify families who are truly in need and provide them with food, love, and support to make their holiday special.

This year, we are focusing on five families who have three or more children and are going through very difficult times. The cost of food has risen for everyone, and we want to do our part to make sure no table goes empty this Thanksgiving.

💛 Join the movement and help us help someone else.
Your contribution, whether big or small, makes a real difference.

We are accepting donations through:

Yearly Vent Haven Ventriloquist Convention recap post! Every year I tell myself I’m going to do better about taking photos + posting while I’m there, but it’s honestly kind of fun to just fully be in the nerd bubble and process later.

The thing about ventriloquism is that it can be a bit of an isolated genre of performing - it doesn’t have the same collaborative nature as theater, music, improv…you know, any/all of the ones with normal human interaction. That being said, this convention has grown to scratch that proverbial itch - and what a joy it is to hang out with other performers who share the same rash. 🤗

Anyway, I love ventriloquism, can’t seem to quit, and am so grateful for this sense of community, the embracing of creativity, for all the knowledge, the history and the special wacky people all over the world pushing it forward. 😘

Saturday was the Big Day! Another @whattodoent production was at hand, and I missed the last 2, so I definitely wanted to be there for this one. This one was held at the Tato Laviera Theater in Harlem. It was a 3 parter and I was only able to stay for 2 but I had a great time! Couple of surprises on this one cause I didn't know who besides @kennywillcomedy gunna perform. Putt always has a good lineup, so I knew it was gunna be a good show and he didn't disappoint having @mrwaters__ open the show! I find out later the 5pm show was the clean show and it had a clean Comedy specialist. He was good, then Pernell came up and kept the vibe up. Said he has 20 years in Comedy. The headliner was @Docta_gel who ive seen and you might have seen in subways and maybe in front of the Barclay Center in Brooklyn performing with his lil mama. I didn't get her name but she was sassy and strong minded. Even was able to give us a dance performance at the end. She even twirked! Between shows in grabbed a plate of some Putt food. Iykyk about that. Didn't have the cabbage this time. I also grabbed a piece of chocolate cake made by @hardlee_quin_ that was good and crusty like i like it. Sat down for the next show and it had a comedy after dark feel with the spotlight type shit. Made it a different venue for me. Kenny got up and showed out some more and introduced my man @leninsworld2323 ! He came out with his energy and got big laughs, like he usually do. Next up was young @mr.babbitt who showed up and made everyone laugh. Was good seeing him again. I didn't get to kick it with him tho. Next up was @marlonrandolph who came with a couple stories and some politics to close out the show. I had a good time getting some laughs at another @whattodoent production. I always wanna get up, but it's cool and I'll have my shot someday. I wish I had time for the 10pm show that had @sofsdope @donitamichelle1 and @hitchflow . Got to kick it with Donita who is always cool. I had a fun time and can't wait for the next one. #BUDACOMEDY #HARLEM #WHATTODOENT #KENNYWILL #DONITA #LENNY #NIGEL #JARED #ALEX #FOOD #FUN #LAUGHS #EXPLORE
