My testosterone was 782 ng/dL, without testosterone replacement therapy.

But here's something every man should understand: Low testosterone isn't diagnosed by age alone, and more testosterone isn't always better.

Dr. Tro Kalayjian recently shared research from the TRAVERSE trial involving 5,246 men with low testosterone and existing cardiovascular disease or elevated cardiovascular risk.

❤️ Major cardiovascular events:
• Testosterone therapy: 7.0%
• Placebo: 7.3%

Encouraging? Yes. Proof that testosterone therapy is risk-free? Absolutely not.

Researchers also identified concerns involving atrial fibrillation, blood pressure, blood clots, and other complications.

With my own coronary calcium score of 5,642, I take cardiovascular decisions seriously.

My message to men over 40.

✅ Check your total and free testosterone.

✅ Look at SHBG and other hormones when appropriate.

✅ Evaluate sleep, nutrition, body composition, medications, and metabolic health.

✅ If testosterone is low, confirm it with two separate morning tests and discuss your symptoms with your doctor.

✅ Don't chase a number or start hormone therapy without understanding the potential benefits and risks.

**Testosterone matters. But so does your heart.**

Know your numbers. Ask questions. Make informed decisions.

A little Tennessee photo dump because I’m still processing the weekend. 🤍

I went to the Low Carb for Better Health Conference not really knowing what to expect.

I knew I wanted to reconnect. With myself. With my husband. With this community.

And somewhere between the conversations, the hugs, the learning, the laughs and seeing so many familiar faces again, I realized just how much I had missed this.

There’s a longer recap coming. I’m still putting it together.

For now, a few moments from the weekend. 🤍Rosette

I just arrived in Tennessee to be part of the Low Carb for Better Health Conference, organized by Amanda Decker.

The last time we attended an event like this was last October. Life was not easy then, but it still felt steady. This time feels different after the loss of my dad.

Leaving home, the kids, and my mother, who is helping while we’re away, was quietly difficult. There was a lot of emotion in walking out the door.

But I’m here.

And I’m hoping to use this time to reconnect. With myself. With my husband. And with the low-carb community that has been such a meaningful part of our lives.

It’s been a while.

I want to be present. To listen. To learn from all the incredible speakers here. To see old friends, make new ones, and simply allow myself to be in this space without thinking about everything waiting for me at home.

Here’s to community, love, hope, and finding a little mental clarity along the way. ❤️

Dr. Tro Kalayjian is not holding back.

In this clip, he takes aim at what he believes are decades of failed health and nutrition guidance—from recommendations surrounding diabetes and carbohydrates to the way we approach childhood obesity and GLP-1 medications.

One of his biggest concerns?

We're now seeing children with fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes.

And Tro believes that should force us to ask whether something is fundamentally wrong with the system—not simply blame individuals for eating too much.

His mission is simple:

“Getting our kids healthy, getting our country healthy.”

🔥 What do you think—has conventional nutrition guidance helped or hurt metabolic health?
