▪️ Moyuum

👐🏻BLW
▪️ Moyuum
▪️Nuby

▪️ Doddl

▪️Sweet Lil‘ Monster

▪️ Miniware
▪️ Miniware

🍽️On Today’s Menu:

Baby Friendly Cottage Pie

We love cottage pie in this house so it only made sense to make a baby friendly version for Flossie!

This recipe is packed with lots of veggies and makes about 4-5 portions. Perfect for the freezer.

Ingredients;
100g beef mince
1 shallot
1 carrot
1 celery stick
2 button mushrooms
1-2 broccoli florets
1 tbsp olive oil
100ml water
1 small white potato
1/4 of a small swede
1 tsp unsalted butter

Method:
- grate or finely chop all of your veggies and lightly fry in a pan with the olive oil for a few minutes until softened
- add the mince and brown and then add the water
- leave to simmer for 10-12 minutes on a medium heat
- remove from the and blitz to your desired texture
- meanwhile peel the potato and swede, add to a pan of water, bring to the boil and cook for 10-15 minutes until soft
- strain and mash until smooth with the butter

🍽️On Today’s Menu:

Roast Squash Risotto

It’s risotto night and this is a yummy one! The roast squash becomes so sweet and sticky in the oven. Flossie absolutely loved it 🤩

She’s also getting so good at feeding herself with her @doddl spoon! Very cute but where is the time going that she is starting to feed herself 😅

Ingredients:
Half a small squash
1 shallot
1 small garlic clove
30g risotto rice
400mls water
Olive oil

Method:
- chop the squash in half and remove the seeds
- Slice into small chunks, place on a baking tray. Drizzle in olive oil and place in the oven at 180°c for 35-40 minutes until very soft
- Remove from the oven, leave to cool and then peel off the skin and mash until smooth.
- Chop the shallot and add to a pan with a lid with a tsp of olive oil
- - fry until soft on a medium heat and grate in the garlic clove. Fry for 1 minute
- Add the risotto rice and water. Bring to the boil, turn down the heat and leave to simmer with the lid on for 20 minutes.
- Stir through the mashed squash.
- If you’re happy with the texture you can serve straight away
- I very gently blizted for a few seconds to break down the rice slightly. The texture is similar to rice pudding.

🥛 What my dairy-free toddler ACTUALLY eats in a day 👇

A very normal day of food for Hallie — and clearly a VERY snacky one 😂🍎🍌

From cereal for breakfast and her little lunchbox to pasta for dinner, pudding and apparently one final banana before bed!

One thing I’ve learnt on our dairy-free journey is that meals don’t have to be complicated. Some days are homemade, some days are convenience foods and most days involve a LOT of fruit 😂

I’m going to start sharing more of what Hallie actually eats day-to-day, so follow along for realistic dairy-free toddler meals, snacks and finds 🤍

What snack is your toddler currently obsessed with? 👇

ad Over the past few months Edward’s been road testing the new @doddl development set, currently we’re using the baby bowl and cutlery but the set also includes a toddler plate and toddler cutlery. It’s perfect for the start of your weaning journey or would be a useful gift to give when baby is born!

We’ve been huge fans of Doddl since I discovered them when we weaned Thomas 3.5 years ago and it’s the only cutlery that I’ve found that a baby can actually use! The bowl is new to us and it works really well as Edward learns to push the food onto his spoon and fork as it has a high back and suctions onto the table or highchair tray so there’s no moving bowls or plates. We use the set at every mealtime and it’s been amazing seeing him learning how to use the cutlery by himself.

If you fancy giving it a try yourself then use the code ‘MILLER10’ for 10% off!

One day they seem to eat all day
The next you are wondering how they are surviving on three crackers and half a banana.

Young children's appetites can vary.
So try not to judge how well they are eating from one meal alone.

Step back and look at the bigger picture.

And if you are constantly wondering whether you are feeding your toddler the right amount - follow me.

I'm talking all about toddler portions this month.
