We bought a house! (And we’re gonna make it even prettier & document that here!)

We just bought and moved into a cute little old house in Salt Lake City. As we begin this new chapter we want to be intentional with our time and decisions and thought we’d start with where we spend most of our time.

Traveling across the world to visit temples taught us so much. We want to continue consciously designing our lives and share that with you! Let us know what you want to see!

Swipe to see what happens when you wave at Gio 👋🏼

Reading update: I’m a little over halfway through ACOWAR. Then I have to read Watership Down in time for book club on Thursday. THEN I’m only reading my usual short books until further notice ✌️

I’m happy all of our books aren’t on the floor anymore but then again it was kinda fun having all of our books on the floor

Happy Monday! I had a great reading weekend but now a busy work week starts.

My husband’s new job doesn’t start until the end of June and we’re taking FULL advantage by leaving on a long international trip in two weeks 🫢🤩 so I have lots to do this week and next to prepare! I’m not usually a book planner but I’ve already started thinking about the books I’m going to bring 🤣

Side note: I took exactly one of these photos of my husband and look at Gio’s perfect pose

Bookshelf progress ✨📚

I love the bookshelves in our new apartment! And I’m really liking the decision to put our set of Great Books and Harvard Classics all together on the top shelf. Plus the rainbow books in a row instead of a column… thoughts on that? I think I like it!

We’ve also separated fiction & nonfiction — nonfic on the right, fiction on the left! And the rainbow is of only fiction books, which was tricky but it barely worked 😅 I’ll post the whole thing & tell you more about organization decisions once all the books are shelved!

As you can see, there’s some extra space on the wall — we just got word that IKEA’s restocking the shelves soon so we’ll add one, maybe two bookcases to make it a true book wall! Gonna need to buy some more books to make my rainbow work 🤣

QOTD: How do you arrange your books?

THE BOOKSHELVES ARE UP! 📚

We made it to our new apartment in Sugarhouse, Utah!!! And obviously one of the very first orders of business was finding a home for the shelves/books.

We decided to use the master bedroom as the office and it’s sooo much bigger, we can expand the shelves! (Once we get our hands on another Billy bookcase or two — if you’re in Utah & you have any you’re trying to get rid of LEMME KNOW & I’ll pay top dollar!) The ceilings are a little shorter but it works out because we just removed one of the extensions.

Aside from that, now I’m just trying to decide how to organize this time around! I’ll definitely keep the rainbow shelves in some way, but can’t decide if maybe I want to have it stretch across all the shelves? Also thinking of separating books I’ve read and books I haven’t read yet? Idk there are so many possibilities here!

BREAKING NEWS: Gio got his cone off. I’m sure it’s all anyone will be talking about for the next few days, not like there’s anything else hugely newsworthy going on rn
—
(Also, I’m already behind on my classics-reading. My November hopefuls are definitely gonna end up being my November + December hopefuls. But I’m enjoying A Tale of Two Cities!)

Been talking about getting Gio a brother all week — what do we think???

November was a super weird reading month for me, and so far December’s not too different 😂 I’m about halfway through A Tale of Two Cities (not really feeling it tbh), Anna Karenina (so good but so long) & Untamed (which I’m really enjoying so far!) BUT I’m taking 2 weeks off of work starting next week so I should be able to get plenty of reading/posting in then! 🙏🏻 happy Sunday!

You can’t really tell, but Gio and I are wearing our matching Christmas sweaters. 🎄Merry Christmas Eve! May you unwrap all the books you were hoping for tomorrow 🎁 📚 🙏🏻 #christmasstack

They said my goldendoodle would be smart, but Gio still doesn’t even know how to read 😒
