today! final concert of @dogstarorchestra, 3pm at east hollywood community garden.

if you are feeling like experiencing some interesting garden music and performance, i will be putting on a piece at the east hollywood community garden that stems from some research i have been doing on hummingbird sounds and wing pattern frequencies over the past period of time.

this is @dogstarorchestra exp music festival's final show of the spring. the program starts at 3, with music from/by Nigel Deane, with some pieces by Cage and Pisaro/Liu performed by Faith Rawson and Christopher Clarino.

this thursday, i’ll be presenting my piece “old home” for non-traditional gamelan ensemble as part of the 22nd annual @dogstarorchestra festival.

inspired by the sounds of falling raindrops, “old home” serves as a ritual container for the heart’s transition from one home to another. a space for honoring the grief, fear, and doubt of leaving the only home one’s ever known, as well as embracing the excitement, hope, and determination of pursuing a life more aligned with one’s dreams and desires. all performed in the dark by candlelight alongside personal field recordings, featuring movement by @youngtseng.work , and an ensemble including @richardanmusic @matthewcloughhunter and arev markarian.
