What a great series this was! Our team was formed in the middle of the series but we worked well and kept placing in the races. Our boy @mikaelcrdenass was able to snag a 2nd overall in the series. And our girls did great as well, @laurenmacrino taking the 1st place overall and @aaannedroiddd taking home 4th overall
Shout out to @ratpackcycling for hosting

3706 N Figueroa has been a hub of community activity for decades. In the past, it housed community centers like Flor y Canto and Sandpaper Books, fostering a sense of belonging and providing resources to the neighborhood.

When the Bike Oven in Cypress Park started to crumble, I felt called to step in. It wasn’t just about saving a building — it felt like honoring the legacy of community-run spaces that shaped me and contributing something positive to the place I’ve always called home.

There wasn’t some grand construction moment. It was mostly elbow grease and long nights. Cleaning. Clearing. Showing up. Giving an old space another chance.

During that process, I began thinking beyond one address.

What if a bicycle workshop didn’t depend on a single building?

That’s when I coined the word:

BICITECLA.

A combination of bicicleta and bibliotheca — a bicycle workshop imagined as a library.

Not just a bike shop. A bike library.

A mobile, container-based repair and education space. Plug-and-play. Deployable at parks, public libraries, and city lots. Repair stands. Shared tools. Hands-on mechanic education. Public access to tools and knowledge.

Now I’m revisiting the archive of those early container renderings and thinking about the bigger picture.

How do we actually execute this? How do we get these deployed across the city?

I’m actively exploring how to make that happen. If you want to be part of that conversation, DM me.

Next sponsor spotlight goes to @dollar.dab 💨⚡️🚲

Some sponsors support the culture.

Some sponsors helped build it.

Dollar Dab has been part of the bike community since the early days, long before fixed gear racing exploded into what it is today. Through countless rides, races, late-night sessions, and years of showing up for the community, he’s remained one of the familiar faces that helped shape the scene many of us came up in.

The bikes, the people, and the culture have changed over the years, but it’s always good seeing the OGs still involved and continuing to support the next generation of riders.

We’re proud to have Dollar Dab supporting the Summer Kick-Off Fixed Gear Crit and helping us keep this tradition alive.
