Trevor Mead builds kinetic creatures using a mix of sculpture, puppetry, and mechanical design.

His creation, Doloresaurus, is a wearable dinosaur exoskeleton built on an articulated frame and trimmed with neon LEDs. Operated from inside, the rig mirrors and exaggerates Mead’s movements, giving the creature a surprising amount of weight, personality, and fluid motion.

It goes beyond a standard costume, it’s a performance-ready piece of kinetic art built to roam and interact with the world around it.

🦖When Dinosaurs become part of the magic on the playa!✨
Meet Doloresaurus @doloresaurus_sf an astonishing fusion of puppetry, engineering, and performance art that lit up #BlackRockCity 🔥
🔩Masterfully designed and operated by artist Trevor Mead, this wearable exoskeleton puppet turns light and motion into pure prehistoric magic. Lined with glowing neon-style LED piping across a lightweight, articulated skeletal frame, the construction allows Trevor to mimic lifelike dinosaur movements seamlessly synced to the music 🎶
🦖It’s more than just a glowing sculpture, it’s an interactive experience that brings people together on the dust for instant, spontaneous dance-offs! 💃🎶
🙏A huge thank you to Trevor Mead for bringing such incredible craftsmanship, imagination, and joy to the playa. Art like this is what makes #BurningMan so unforgettable! 🙌✨

🫪 It’s now AUGUST! Ahhhh! Hope your prep is going well. Would you believe this is only around 10% of the scenes I filmed (not including photos) just last year?

💡I had an idea of this effect after flicking through the files in preview mode while they were ranked by size not time or name, giving many different aspects of the burn in an instant.

30 days until gate opens! 37 until the man🔥

The 10 Principles: GIFTING

Too often people resort to physical object as gifts. Burning Man is far more than that. Some of the best gifts aren’t physical objects, in these examples they are performances!

Entertainment, participation, humour, innovation or a chance to do something or be someone you wouldn’t normally be. And you can be so creative with them, not to mention there is little to no expectations. Which almost always leads to surprise and delight everytime.

So build that neon T-Rex rig, dress up as a diner waitress and dish out that sass, be a giant cigarette and offer a selection of exotic smokes!

For a day, find the real you, or maybe loose the real you...

The dusty sky is the limit.

SF’s favorite 7-foot neon party monster, Doloresaurus, is crashing It’s Hella Late! We spared no expense to drag this glowing beast of Dolores Park chaos straight to our couch.

Doloresaurus doesn't want to be fed... Doloresaurus wants to party.
