Sometimes the best adventures start by simply getting out of town. For Honcho Field Day, we loaded up a crew of European media and friends, pointed them 45 minutes away from Paris, and dropped them into the countryside with a fleet of S4 Honcho Trails and absolutely zero interest in being responsible adults for a couple of days. There were dirt trails. There was BBQ. There were lawn games, campfires, and enough laughter echoing across the property to make you wonder if anyone remembered this was technically a motorcycle launch. Nobody came back talking about battery chemistry. Nobody was debating specs. They came back dusty, grinning, and immediately trying to tell everyone else about the line they just took, the trail they just found, or the stupid thing that made them laugh inside their helmet. The word we heard over and over wasn’t “electric.” It wasn’t “performance.” It was “fun.” That’s the entire point of Honcho. Less serious. More stories. More excuses to take the long way home. New toy, level up! ⚡️ Yesterday marked the launch of the new HONCHO S4 trail by Livewire, and I got the chance to try it. This electric trail bike is: silent power, instant torque, and zero emissions. We tested it in the fields around the farm, and the two-speed system is genius. 🌿 Green Mode for technical medium trails where you need control, and 💜 Purple Flight Mode for when you want to unleash full power and fly over the bumps. @wheels_and_waves in Biarritz doesn’t ask politely. It pulls you in. At Punks Peak, throttles stayed pinned and the mountain answered back. Rubber burned. Crowds held their breath. I often get asked, “What’s the best beginner bike and why?” My answer may surprise you. Think about what a brand new rider is dealing with. You leave the rider course on a 250cc motorcycle, then days or weeks later you’re sitting on a bike that’s often twice as heavy and riding in real traffic for the first time. Cars that don’t see you. Potholes. Debris. Traffic lights. Higher speeds. All while trying to remember shifting, clutch control, braking, balance, and everything else you learned in class. Then there’s getting the bike home. Do you hop on the freeway for the first time and run 70-80 mph, or ask a friend to ride it home? Buy a small bike and you may outgrow it quickly. Buy a big bike and it can be intimidating while you’re still learning. That’s why I think the @livewireev Mulholland and Alpinista make such a strong case for beginner riders. No clutch. No shifting. Rain Mode helps tame throttle response, letting you focus on traffic, road conditions, balance, and learning how a REAL motorcycle feels on the street. @reload.land Silent Ride last Saturday evening. Berlin on its own frequency. Hundreds of us flow through the city. No engines, all motor. Wind, movement, and that quiet kind of energy you feel more than hear. Somewhere nearby, @fiaformulae was doing its thing. Two takes on electric performance, same city, same night.
