I am Gloria Maria Pugh, CEO AMWAT Moving Warehousing Storage. A few years ago, my technology skills were pretty much turn on the computer, point, click, and get where I needed to go. I never imagined I would be building software, much less be selected to compete in lovable.dev global SheBuilds Season 4.

My journey began at a Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce annual conference, where Dr. Angela Long Tallahassee State College presented a session on artificial intelligence. She showed a video that looked and sounded like Morgan Freeman, explaining that it wasn’t actually him. I was fascinated. Afterward, I made a beeline for her. That conversation became a friendship and a mentorship that opened a whole new world to me.

Then came a 15 hour Saturday vibeathon at domistation. I turned down several invitations with friends because I wanted to invest in myself and my business. There, I reconnected with my longtime friend Vince Hunt, who was teaching us how to use AI tools to build software.

Angela and Vince encouraged me, challenged me, and celebrated my progress. I kept learning, practicing, and building. Today, my team at AMWAT uses tools
I created to help us do our work, and they love them.

When Vince encouraged me to apply for SheBuilds, I honestly doubted I would be selected. Then there I was on October 15, joining the opening Zoom as women called out greetings from Paris, London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, New York, and beyond.

I will never forget that feeling. Women around the world, building together, turning everyday challenges into working solutions.

My submission, EviDock, grew directly from the warehouse challenges we experience at AMWAT. I’m also working on ideas to serve our community.

Whatever the competition results, I already feel like a winner.

I’m sharing this because you don’t have to start as a technology expert. Start with curiosity, find people who encourage you, and put what you learn into practice.

What could you create for your business, your family, or your community? You may surprise yourself. I certainly did. ❤️ #AmwatMovers #domistation #Warehousing #AMWAT #womenownedbusiness

30 years of building. Connecting. Advocating. Creating opportunities for business in the Capital Region.

Today at Advantage 2026, we shared a look at the Capital City Chamber of Commerce’s journey over the past three decades—and a glimpse into what’s ahead.

As we enter a new chapter through our merger with Domi Station, we’re building on that legacy while creating new opportunities to support entrepreneurs, strengthen businesses, and grow our region’s economy.

The legacy continues. The future is taking shape. And there’s more to come.
