If Skepta & James Blake had a baby, it would probably sound like this.

How we made “Fabrizio” and our process.

1) It starts with the sonics.
Mayfly uses his special set of tools to identify samples and sounds that start to form the basis for a new beat. Check out our “3 things we’ve learnt from 10,000 hours of production” for a deeper look into Mayfly’s process!

2) Songwriting
Once the beat has been fleshed out and we think there’s something here to play with - Grayd begins his songwriting process. This determines the energy and stylistic direction of the track.

3) Performance/Refinement
The iterative process begins. The song is performed, refined, and performed again until we land on the final version. This involves tweaking the lyrics and the beat until they work together synchronously.

4) Content
Once finalise, we start recording all of our promo material to start generating hype and interest.

This is the exact process we used for our latest track “Fabrizio”, which you can listen to on Friday! Link in bio.

You need to know this before you release.

If we knew this years ago, we’d be so much further ahead.

1) Don’t chase perfection (it doesn’t exist)
You’ll soon realise no one cares more than you do. No one can hear that subtle note change. Don’t overthink it, let it pour out of you.

2) Put in the reps
You won’t get anywhere if you don’t create and put in the hours to hone your craft.
Don’t expect to make something impactful if you’re not creating.

3) Actually release the music
We sat on our music for 10+ years before releasing. Get if of your own way.
