Part 1 of 2. First ever Listen Deeply. Less talk, more listening. Headphones on, world off.

👏🏻👏🏿👏🏽👏 First off a huge shout to all the creatives who came along and shared their vibes.

💜 Some thank you's to @Ealing.libraries for the space and to @ealingculture for the support in bringing this to Ealing Residents as part of Autism Awareness.

🫶🏽Special thanks to Sonali at the Ealing Libraries team for highlighting the importance of neurodivergent‑friendly spaces throughout the borough.

🎧A huge thanks to our backbone @quietqulture for investing in important infrastructure and technical knowledge to make public spaces quieter and more accessible for arts lovers and creatives with sensory challenges.

🔥Can't forget @diaxporarecordings and our hosts @djtearbear and @ishyaboidio for curation and audio archiving.

Catch us next month. Link in bio @listendeeply_

⚡️TOMORROW IS BPM 08!! 👾
AT THE ALBANY IN DEPTFORD! 7:30-10:30!!
TIX IN BIO!😋🤓👽

Here are some more incredible moments from the last caught by the one and only @suzi_corker !

The biggest question I get about @blockpowermusic is “ What even is it though?” To which I always find so interesting to try explain:

Producers and beatmakers ( no matter the genre or style ) get together and each take turns in first playing either something they prepared, something they wanted to show or even something theyre messing with on the spot (for about 2/3 mins) - then they have around 2minutes to blend with the next person and then it transfers over !
The BPM (beatsperminute/ “what tempo are we at!?”) is announced each round, allowing that to be the rough fabric that ties everyone together !
This isn’t done in a conventional ‘ performers- audience’ dynamic but rather we want everyone involved! Come close and inspect the scientists and witches and wizards and bleep connoisseurs at work or dance while watching the visuals that also have clear indicators as to who is playing when, with a unique perspective on their ‘stations’ too 😼🤓🫡👾👑!

All lovers of loud and proud sharers of sound, pull up!!!!!🔈🔊
This is only BPM08 and we’ve already evolved so much from what it started as 🦕

Some slick shots of the previous @blockpowermusic courtesy of @suzi_corker. Big vibes as always, one of the freshest and most exciting events in London for beatmakers. It really throws you in the deep end creatively, a welcoming space to experiment with whatever hardware or software you use.

The next one is on the 24th (next Friday), at @thealbanyse8. I'll be there again, this time dusting off my Digitakt sampler. Ticket link in my bio, come along and experience the magic.

Big love to @kwake.bass for dreaming up and bringing to life such a dope concept.
