It’s not often we get two ministers visiting @singaporecyclingfederation’s BMX and Pump track, so it was a privilege to witness this occasion at the official opening of the Bricks, together with the Brickland-Tengah National Day Celebration 2026.

One man can make all the difference… SEEING YOU TODAY I’M SO SO HAPPY (last pic)😍

Back in 2020, I was nothing. But you believed in me. You literally logged into your account on my phone, trusted me, and gave me a chance when I probably didn’t even know how much I needed one.

When I was at my most difficult time, you were always there. There were so many times you texted me first before I even found the courage to reach out to anyone. You never made me feel like I was alone.

Today, you still continue to care — for me, for all of us volunteers, for the residents, and for everyone around you. Words will never be able to express how I am forever grateful for you @don.wee 🫶🏻

I can never repay you for all the help you’ve given me, or for everything you’ve taught me along the way. But I will always remember your kindness, your guidance, and most importantly, the way you believed in people.

And the best way I can honour that is to pay it forward — to be there for others the way you were there for me. Thank you for teaching me to be a better human.

One man can make a difference. 6 years later, we’re all back home in Brickland where it first started - with the Bricks officially being launched today too~!

You made a difference in my life. And I hope one day, I can make the same difference in someone else’s. ❤️

[UITS 50th Anniversary Celebrations 🎉]

The Union of ITE Training Staff (UITS) @ite_uits marks its 50th anniversary this year — a meaningful milestone that reflects the important role training staff have played in strengthening Singapore’s skills ecosystem over time.

As Advisor to UITS, I was glad to join members, partners and fellow advisors in marking this occasion.

What stands out is how the journey of UITS mirrors the evolution of Singapore’s workforce transformation — from building foundational technical capabilities in earlier years, to today’s emphasis on continuous upskilling, adaptability, and preparing our workforce for a more complex economy.

Training staff at ITE sit at a very important point in this system — where learning meets industry, and where skills are translated into real pathways for students entering the workforce. Their work is often behind the scenes, but remains central to how we strengthen mobility and opportunity for Singaporeans.

It was meaningful to see leaders across different phases of Singapore’s labour movement and workforce development journey come together to mark this milestone — including Mr Lim Boon Heng and Mr Lim Swee Say, alongside GOH Minister Desmond Lee @desmond.lee reflecting the continued partnership across Government, labour and the community.

Beyond the celebrations, the programme also featured student performances and the launch of a UITS e-book capturing its 50-year journey — a reminder that workforce transformation is ultimately built through sustained effort over time by educators and training professionals.

Congratulations to UITS on this milestone, and thank you to all past and present leaders, members and partners who have contributed to this journey.

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗵

Alhamdulillah!

I welcome the announcement by Acting Minister Prof Faishal Ibrahim and Muis about the location of the new mosque in Tengah within Chua Chu Kang GRC. This news is eagerly awaited by our Muslim residents here. Thank you to all who have worked and contributed to this. I believe this new mosque will be a center of worship, learning and religious harmony; beneficial for all our communities.

Together with my fellow parliamentary colleagues, Minister Tan See Leng, Acting Minister Jeffrey Siow, and Dr. Choo Pei Ling, we will explore more prayer spaces in the interim for Muslim congregants, through the Qarya groups in Brickland and Keat Hong, especially during Ramadan and Hari Raya. Shout out to my friend, previous Adviser Don Wee who supported the establishment of Qaryah Brickland with Al Khair mosque last year.

Together let’s continue to build a united and blessed society.

A final post to round up the series where then-Member of Parliament @don.wee invited meto his @ilovebrickland Community Volunteers Networking Session. 🤝

I felt this community started out on the right foot, to even have 4 mascots to lead their work. And how did they get those beautiful standing banners - it's not something I see everywhere.

I wonder about their progress in the past year while I look forward to hosting my annual flagship in their community on 29 Jun 2025. Hope to see familiar faces! 💕

Massive #throwback to last year, when I was very honoured to be invited by then-Member of Parliament @don.wee to his @ilovebrickland Community Volunteers Networking Session. 🤝

Since I was in the area, I also listened to a mental wellness talk by Caregivers Alliance! 🖥️ Veena passionately shared on the various big works and workshops the non-profit is doing for free! I am really inspired by what @calsingapore does! 💕

Throwback to last year, very honoured to be invited by then-Member of Parliament @don.wee to his @ilovebrickland Community Volunteers Networking Session. Many firsts including receiving a namecard with the state crest 🫣 Thank you @skfreaker for helping me connect to others on what I do, when I'm too idealistic attempting to grow organically through passive word of mouth. 💐

So much takeaways but I hope I'm clearer now about the difference between grassroots / PA / RN / CCC ... from the constituency Director, People's Association sharing, but definitely need more reminders. 🙊

It was also very unbelievable for #Hostgagements to be specially mentioned by Mr Don Wee. 👏 And I had the privilege once again to have another 1 to 1 chat with where he shared light on my puzzlement on my observed twisting architecture of the new BTOs, which allowed lesser light to pass through. Glad that is now way better as this constituency is so bright! He also shared about creating a CC at void decks 😱 can't wait to see how their innovation materialises soon!

I was grouped with the sports CSN, where I met passionate active people who believed in increasing the accessibility for lower income groups to access sports, in alignment with #HealthierSG and uncovering new talents.

One person can change someone’s life…

You said your volunteer cried when he knew you were stepping down, but I did today too, so many times… I cannot say how much you impacted the lives of many, but I can say for my personal life. Don without you, I wouldn’t have been who I am today.

Five years ago, when brickland was first formed… You allowed me to take your very first video, took hours off to be there for me when I had problems, was the first few to be there for me at my lowest, taught me to be a better person, connected me with so many people, gave me my first big project when I made hosting and videos my full time…

Who would have known that your little boy would go on to emcee for so many MP/ ministers and big institutions today…

Part of me was still hoping that stepping down was probably another joke, but when it came out in the news today at 1PM… I was so overwhelmed and you meant so much to me, and so many of us…

One person can change someone’s life, entirely… You impacted my life greatly, and so did the lives of many of us… Thank you for making Brickland, a better home is it today.

You mean so much to all of us. Thank you for everything, Don…

PAP MP Don Wee has often spoken up on various issues affecting Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

Did you know that SMEs employ 70% of the Singaporean workforce? However, as small businesses, many might not know how to adapt job roles to accommodate workers with special needs.

To date, there are grants and wage support to encourage businesses to hire PwDs.

But if we want to build a truly inclusive society, more must be done to increase the employment rate of PwDs beyond the aspirational 40%.

In the final days of Ramadan, I joined DPM @gankimyong, MPs @zhulrahim and @don.wee in distributing Hari Raya packets and ice-cold teh Tarik to our Muslim friends and residents. Wishing all abundance of blessings! 😊
