#takemebacktuesday to 7 years ago, when myself, Chandon Sethi, Michele Quintero, Ian Stults, Marie Colonna Darryl Davis, Tiffany Browne Tavarez, and Kelvin Guevara had a screening of the mini-series we did, “The Adventures of Stu & Max: The Great Internet Swindle” at the now-relocated Houdini Kitchen Laboratory. Also in there was my dad @ramon_jesus_rodriguez, my mom Lizette Cantres, my brother Gabriel (briefly), Chandon’s dad Mukesh “Mick” Sethi, mom Sangeeta, sisters Shivali (@spalzy) and Deepali (@thepawlee92), and best friend @mikewanders; and Michele’s friend Kristen Islas and her Oniyide Francis. You couldn’t really see Chandon’s family or mine that well in the photos, but they were there! Marie couldn’t make it of course.

We had some technical difficulties at first, but we eventually played it and it was a laugh riot that we enjoyed! While the others could say a few words, I was speechless and couldn’t figure out what to say. But we had a good time! Eventually, I shared it on YouTube with a lot of family, friends and acquaintances and many seemed to enjoy it. Now I admit this outing was flawed and I’d decide was not canon for an intended future web series, but still quite an accomplishment for those who are less than big-time industry figures. But eventually, I plan to remake “Stu & Max” with collaborators once we’re ready to upgrade to professional, commercially streamed projects, complete with contracts with SAG-AFTRA and AEA. Before that, I guess we’ll write scripts and with a mentor or two of mine, conduct the old Workshopping ploy to hear how the script will sound acted out. But that’ll wait for a while, as I still have the short film about a small group of outsiders doing a theatre piece to do.

I’ll share the YouTube links in a comment if people wanna check them out. The project has flaws, but still the shape of things to come!

And a Happy Memorial Day too!

Three days ago, I turned 36! Two days ago, I got to celebrate it in Brooklyn with my friends Chandon and Shivali Sethi, Ian Stults, Anhelaisha Montmory, and my dad Ramon and his current domestic partner Dr. Evelyn Tuero-Llanos! We celebrated at an Italian restaurant called Ainslie, named after the street. And Ramon and I had dinner there together weeks ago.

I’d say this was one of my top birthday celebrations since my 30th in 2016! I had friends since then who moved out of New York partially due to the pandemic, some more busy than others, and some just away for the weekend. But I’m glad my current core friends could make it, and we all had a good time! I even got to propose my idea for starting to create content for @youtube with some of them and they liked the idea! We’ll be figuring out a plan at some point!

Evelyn was her usual energetic, persistent self, and that’s a good thing, as she got on we’ll meeting my friends for the first time. Ramon already knew them from various points in my life. And when the time came to sing Happy Birthday, the waiters, waitresses and another customer party joined in!

And this was also a last hurrah for my red “John Paul George Ringo” t-shirt I bought at a @beatlesstore in London in December 2013. It’s been one of my favorite shirts, which is why I plan to frame and preserve it to hang in my apartment in the @cityofwhiteplains.

Hope next year I get new friends to come or those who couldn’t make it this time. But even if it’s this much or less next year, I’m sure it could possibly be up to par with this one!

The long-haired freak is 35!! The birthday dinner didn’t quite go as planned, but I had a good time with @chandonster, @spalzy and @mikewanders, not to mention later joined by @thepawlee92 and @masterofpuppets242! I also met Chandon’s actor friend Jonah, a real awesome dude! Deepali and Anthony joined when we went to an outside bar near Mike’s apartment.

I gotta kind of get used the wild side aspects, but I’ll get used to it. And hopefully the pandemic will be through by next September! So hopefully I won’t need to wear this goddamn ponytail, lol lol lol lol lola [sic]

And thanks to @ramon_jesus_rodriguez for that early birthday present of the t-shirt with the album cover of one of my favorite albums, George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass!” He even also got me another @georgeharrisonofficial t-shirt and a new Nirvana t-shirt! He also got me an LP box set of the 50th Anniversary edition of “All Things Must Pass” itself!

#tbt to last Thanksgiving, November 28th, 2019! Some of you may know I made this post on Facebook deciding to share things with people I knew, such as some serious struggles I’ve had. But I was thankful my family, especially @gabrodgram, have helped me through them, along with others. Gabriel also helped me make huge changes to my life plan!
A lot of these 2020 plans on my post were dashed thanks to COVID-19 and the fact that I’m November that we didn’t know it would happen. @rainsong714 , @daviddzurilla and I were planning to try out someone who was really enthusiastic and even learned to play bass guitar for that. But the pandemic put the scamp of sabotagery into it, and the dude moved back to New Jersey and joined another band, with no plans to return to New York. The coronavirus has affected all of us a great deal, and I can’t help thinking about family, friends, acquaintances, etc who have been dealing with such hard times. It’s hard for us to think of what we should be thankful of.
With regards to that, I guess what I’m thankful for is how I managed to share this crucial post to my family, friends, etc.,helping them understand me better. And to my family for continuing to support me so much. And if I never ended up with them 27 years ago, I probably would’ve been a Trump supporter and shared JK Rowling’s transphobic views. I was already a homophobe and sexist/misogynistic, but I renounced all those prejudices well before Gabriel came out as gender non-binary. And I’m sure they’ll be glad if you support their cause as part of @queersforacause. Gabriel’s latest Instagram post explains it all.
Also, I’m thankful we won’t be having another 4 years with that asshole Trump in office! I hope he can get arrested for tax evasion before he can run again in 2024! Also, I’m thankful that the country has really maxesteps to end the disease, so to speak, called racism. I’m a firm supporter of the #blacklivesmatter movement, though there’s still too much to do so we can’t give up, especially in terms of #justiceforbreonnataylor!
Even if you can’t get together with certain family, be thankful they’re still with you! The crisis will end at some point!
