@donerdudes in Tempe is one of my favorite places to grab a bite when I’m in town. The mac and cheese has a little kick, which adds an additional level of flavor to the already fresh flavors from the toppings. The sauces for the bowls are fabulous. I have never had a bad meal from here, and I always leave wanting more!🤩

As you can see I am on a roll for satisfying my need for foods that remind me of good ole England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. I was happy to find the ‘Doner Dudes’ in Tempe, AZ. It definitely wasn’t like the local Turkish shop on the high street that served a crispy combination of meat, veggies , all topped with a spicy chilli sauce and crammed into a toasted pita . Doner Guys had a lot more variety , almost like a chipotle style place that specializes in Doners! You choose your base (Fries, Turmeric Rice, Mixed Greens , Pocket Bread or Mac N Cheese), then choose a protein (Chicken Doner, Beef Kibbeh, Falafel or Chicken Wings) , Toppings (lots of veggie choices) and your choice of Sauce. I got the Mid East sandwich (Pocket Bread, Chicken Döner, Sumac Onion, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Sauce) and two other build your own entrees. One that had a fries base and the other with a mixed greens . My favorite of the three was the sandwich . Admittedly the sandwich wasn’t exactly what I was use to eating (traditional greasy doner kebab), but it still was good. It was tasty but I missed the taste of the lamb doner with the red chilli sauce. As long as you are not expecting a delicious but totally unhealthy doner kebab from your local street in England, you will be fine :) I would definitely go here again, as the actual chicken doner meat was delicious and lean. Lots of healthy choices, including for vegans and vegetarians as they had vegetarian bases and toppings! Fairly cheap , 10 dollars for a sandwich - not bad!
