Someone pinch me! The quick trip to Nashville was fun!

It was a great honor to be nominated for Dance Judge of the Year and to win was nothing short of amazing but, I do think that the incredible women nominated are equally as deserving. Those of us in the industry know how much all of us pour into this thing called dance! Thank you MOTUS for bringing all of us together and for creating this! You’re doing great work!

It was the icing on the cake to also be there to support Mary Wendt as she was inducted as a Pioneer of All Star Dance! She is an incredible woman and I’m lucky to get to call her family.

Thank you to my best friend Allie Hudak for coming along for the ride. We’ve grown up a lot since we met back in our early twenties but our friendship has only gotten stronger! And Donna Haas who saw something in me even when I had a long way to go! I love you both! I’m lucky to have a group like this by my side!

Congratulations to everyone recognized at the 2026 Cheer & Dance NOVAS Awards presented by MotUS. I was beyond honored to be by Jesus’ side as he was recognized as Dance Judge of the Year, and so excited to celebrate THE Mary Wendt as she was honored as a Pioneer of All Star Dance! And a huge congratulations to Star Performance Center on being named Dance Studio of the Year! Such an exciting and well-deserved honor! ✨

Such a special night celebrating people who have given so much to this industry. So grateful I got to be there for it. ❤️

The 2026 TDEA Convention was nothing short of amazing ✨ I loved every second of working side-by-side with my ride-or-die, Libby Koepke, behind the scenes—there’s truly no one better. I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up to celebrate my 2025 Director of the Year award and to listen to my speech. Your support means more than I can put into words.

I’m also beyond proud of my captain, McKinley, for her participation in the All-State Dance Team performance, beautifully choreographed by Claire Rodgers Lewis—what an honor to witness! Congratulations to the TDEA Board on a truly successful event.

I’m heading home full of joy, inspiration… and completely exhausted in the best way 💚🖤💛

A moment of reflection…

This is a spectacular industry that we have the privilege to be a part of. Not only for its intensity and its artistry but for its rich history, interwoven with years of evolution and mentors. Our program is in its infancy but it was cultivated by design years prior. Before there was LMC Dance, there was Armwood High School, there was North Central Elite…Before there was a Coach Vic, there was @pamchancey, there was @mhsboone, there was @donnahaas.

That is why @nationaldancecoachesassoc is so impactful for dance team professionals. We are reminded of our “why”, surrounded by change makers, innovators and intentional leaders.

Shout out to @rebelathleticdance for the super swag and congratulations 🍾🎉 🫶🏻to our very own Coach Vic @bowman_v who earned her pin for 15 years of service to the dance industry.

TDEA 2025 will be one I will never forget!

Karis you killed it as President. Your poise, kindness, global thinking, and care for others shined through your service. Thank you for leading with your heart.

I am so honored to have served on the TDEA board over the past 8 years. This organization has given back to me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. The connections, the friendships, the computer lessons and the life lessons are worth every minute of late night zooms, drives to Houston, and countless hours of work.

I am incredibly proud of each of the legacies that I get to be a part of. From TDEA, to MA Dance, to Birdville High School; each is a piece of what makes up who I am.

I am grateful beyond words to be honored as the 2025 TDEA Director of the Year. Having so many of my former students in the room as directors made it even more special. I can’t wait to stress about that speech for the next 365 days… Nothing could top the hilarious and amazing Shelby Dawn Young-Polansky. Your friendship, and mentorship mean so much to me. Congratulations sweet friend.

Libby, mom, I could not do it without you. I am so grateful to have you in my life. Thank you for being my biggest supporter, protector and cheerleader. We HAVE to get better at taking pictures together.

Jesus…. I love you so much my heart could explode. I forgive you for ruining my banquet fit… Jesus and I have partnered for years lifting each other in the most insane ways. But Thursday night the universe reminded me I turn 40 this year when my knee gave out in a “basic and most simple way to teach beginners” according to the words Jesus said minutes before 🤣. Thank you for loving me with all your heart Jesus!

Thank you to Darby Boyd and everyone else who helped us honor the legacy of Kristine Copeland. I would not be the woman I am without her guidance, friendship and honest mentoring.
