POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There is something truly magical about what happens when two creative souls collide✨ Explosion of Love by Donna McCabe and Ala Ilescu is a breathtaking celebration of poetry and art, where every verse finds its perfect visual partner in dreamy, vibrant watercolors. From the raw, impassioned drive of “Ink Bleeds” to the electric indigo sparks of “Expressions of Love,” this collection captures the full spectrum of human emotion with warmth, beauty, and heartfelt honesty. It’s an absolute joy to get lost in these pages and feel the synergy between word and brushstroke on every single page.
Which poem or artwork calls to your heart first when you pick up a new collection. How do you feel about artwork paired with poetry - does seeing the art change how you experience the words?

Have I lost touch with
What at times used to
Be fresh air for my living,
Now it’s lingering with a
Feeble shred of dying
Thought.

Have I lost touch with,
What at times used to
Be my ace card, now
It’s burning in the flames
Of my negligence and
Forgetfulness.

Have I lost touch with
What at times used to be
My play, now it’s a graveyard
Of haunted words, waiting
To take possession of my
Cursed mind, the moment
I step in.

Have I lost touch with
What at times used to
Be my wings, now they
Are ripping off my skin
And embedding themselves
In my body, as they please.

Have I lost touch with
What at times used to
Be my skin, now I am
Shredding it slowly as
If it’s poison melting my
Bones.

Have I lost touch with
What at times used to
Be my mind, now it’s
A tumour bleeding in
And out from my body
And not even letting me
Die.

Have I lost touch with
What at times used to
Be my helm now it’s a
Realm of “un’s” that are
Eager to drag me to the
End of eternity, with my
Own reliable certainties.
