Grá is more than love.

Beautifully said, Pól Ó Colmain. Beautifully said.

Just like love, this audio has been popping up on our feed and making its way through the internet. Love spreading from Cork to the world.

It feels like the perfect sound to go with Charlie’s Grá Red Heart design. Each piece is handmade by him in his Cork studio. Again, a bit of love spreading around the world from Cork.

A little alchemy on the shop floor ✨

Leeanne O’Donnell called in with 'Sparks of Bright Matter' and very kindly signed copies for us!

Set between the grimy, dangerous streets of Georgian London and the mists of West Cork, it has a secret alchemist, a mysterious stolen book, Irish mythology and people burning for all sorts of things ...knowledge, love, freedom, transformation… all the things I want characters to be burning for!

Signed copies are here now ... while they last.

So great that our beautiful Dragonfly Project gets a second outing. Thanks to @donaghcarey and @skibbereenartsfestival for facilitating this. I can’t emphasise enough how wonderful this is and how worthwhile it is dropping in to see it. In the gallery space opposite the West Cork Hotel, open every day of the festival.

We absolutely love a genre cross-over here at Science Fiction Ireland and we're specifically encouraging - Sci-Fi X Irish myth - in our next submissions window!!!

So we're beyond excited to see @irishwriterscentre have linked up with @donnellleeanneo to run an online course on working mythological concepts into fiction; with a focus on Irish myth and it's integration with speculative fiction!!!

Meanwhile Sci-Fi Ireland Issue 1 remains available digitally and in print follow the link in our bio!!! 💜🍀💜

Our first stop on this sunny day at @westcorkliteraryfestival is the gorgeous @bantry_bookshop. Lovely to chat with Cammy and see 'Contentious Spaces' on display. We are looking forward to Rosaleen's event at 5pm where she will chat to Leeanne O'Donnell about her amazing book. Pop in to the @themaritimehotel if your in town.

At 6.30 pm we are off to see the legendary #MargaretBusby who will be in conversation with our very own #NidhiZakariaEipe.

In the meantime, we we will catch a poetry story by #ErinFornoff performed to music by the amazing #OisínWalshPeelo.

We might even squeeze in a swim!

On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome 5th class students from Educate Together Carrigaline to participate in our Shared Folktales of Europe event.

Author and podcaster, Leeanne O’Donnell introduced students to the storytelling traditions and lore from Ireland and other EU countries, emphasising the shared themes of our folklore heritage, and fostering a sense of shared identity and belonging with our EU counterparts.

After the event, students were delighted to receive their Passport to the European Union, a booklet introducing young citizens to famous people, dishes, buildings and sites from each member state. These booklets are freely available from Carrigaline Library.

Leeanne will be back to facilitate a similar event for the public in June, more information about this event to follow soon.
